Community bus services in Torbay have today been told they will receive nearly £100,000 of council funding.
It is hoped the money will help to "support the existing service" and create two new routes.
The news follows a campaign and petition supported by hundreds of residents and local councillors calling for the reinstatement of key links in Babbacombe, Hele, and parts of Paignton that ended last April.
Kevin Foster, the MP for Torbay, said: "The council's putting the capital funding for the vehicles themselves, and then the bus fares and concessionary fares should mean the service breaks even.
"It's great news, in particular for those residents who were left somewhat isolated without their key local links."

Concerns have been raised in parliament after the collapse of a cliff onto a beach in Newquay, which is near a site planned for new homes.
"This is causing great concern with local residents," said Steve Double, Conservative MP for St Austell and Newquay.
"So could the leader of the house arrange for a ministerial statement to make clear to local authorities and the planning inspectorate the position on coastal development, particularly in areas that are prone to coastal erosion."
The Leader of the Commons, Andrea Leadsom, replied saying the necessary planning rules are already in place.
She said: "Local plans determine the allocation of land for development and planning permission should always take account of the risk of erosion and the national planning policy framework sets the expectation of local planning authorities establishing coastal change management areas that encourage development that's suited to the area's changing coastline."
A former UKIP candidate has been found guilty of failing to ensure the safety of a worker who died in a trench collapse on his land.
Keith Crawford, 74, of Crusader Court, Pocombe Bridge, near Ide, remains on trial for manslaughter at Exeter Crown Court where the jury is still considering its verdict on the charge of causing death through gross negligence.
Crawford denied responsibility for the death of Peter Clements, who was buried alive while carrying out drainage work on Crawford's land and died in hospital three days later.
He has been found guilty of a second charge brought under the Health and Safety Act of failing to ensure the safety of an employee.
During the two-week trial he denied suggestions from the prosecution that he did not care about the workers' safety or that he disliked red tape or anything that may be connected to European regulations.
Crawford owns 60 properties in and around Exeter with a total value of about £7m.
He stood as the UKIP candidate in Exeter in the 2010 and 2015 general elections, losing to Labour's Ben Bradshaw on both occasions.

A statement says only those with a "genuine emergency" should use the Emergency Department and people are urged to help by collecting and supporting those ready to leave hospital.
The jury in the case of a former UKIP parliamentary candidate in Devon who’s accused of manslaughter has been told it can return a majority verdicts.
Keith Crawford, of Ide, Devon, denies gross negligence manslaughter and failing to ensure an employee's safety after labourer Peter Clements died in hospital three days after a trench he was digging next to a swimming pool owned by Mr Crawford caved in on him in 2015.
Exeter Crown Court Judge Mr Justice Dingemans told the jury, which has been deliberating for more than eight hours, that he will accept verdicts on which at least 10 of the jury agree.
Mr Crawford, a businessman and former soldier, was the unsuccessful UKIP candidate for Exeter in the 2010 and 2015 general elections.
