A woman was airlifted to hospital after falling from her horse on Mawgan Porth beach near Newquay.
The horse became startled as she was riding on the beach at about 16:20 on Sunday, causing her to fall.
Senior RNLI lifeguard Dave Kelly was quickly on the scene and said: "When we got to the woman she was sat up and in a lot of pain. Our main concern initially was that she may have a spinal injury so we began checking her for signs and symptoms."
Three lifeguards cleared the area to allow the air ambulance to fly her to hospital with a suspected collar bone injury.
