The three-day event was scheduled to be held between 21 and 23 September, externalbut has been called off because the charity that runs it has gone into administration.

Since it was first held in 2011, acts including The Darkness, Reef, Seth Lakeman, The Stranglers, Squeeze, Brand New Heavies, Jools Holland, Johnny Marr and The Proclaimers have all performed at the Looe Music Festival.

There is an emergency meeting of town leaders being held on Monday over concerns for the many people who have already paid for tickets, travel and accommodation.

    Quote Message

We are deeply shocked and saddened by the news that Looe Music Festival charity is going into administration and therefore the festival in its current format is cancelled. Many local people and businesses are relying on the late summer revenue from the festival to see them through the winter months, so we just can't sit back and do nothing. We just ask ticket-holders, residents, businesses and performers to give us a few days breathing space to see if we can come up with a Plan B."
