BBC News OnlineA man has suffered a "life-changing" injury to his leg after his motorbike was involved in a crash with a car in Newton Abbot on Friday, police have said.
The head-on collision happened on Ashburton Road at about 06:50.
The motorcyclist, a 51-year-old man from Buckfastleigh, was airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

A lorry was also hit by the motorbike after the initial collision. It has minor damage and the driver was unharmed.

South West Conservatives organised the Big Beach Clean at the weekend.
The series of events tied in with other campaigns and projects across the region, including the Great British Beach Clean led by the Marine Conservation Society.

BBC Radio CornwallOne care home has been shut down and three in Cornwall and Devon put into special measures following damning reports from inspectors.
Fernleigh House in Gunnislake, which is run by the Angel Care Agency, looks after 11 people. All residents have now been moved out and Cornwall Council has found them alternative accommodation.
Inspectors from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) had been visiting the home on a monthly basis following previous problems.

It was inspected by the CQC following serious concerns raised by health and social care professionals. Inspectors found it to be inadequate in many areas and an action plan has now been put in place.
Ocean View care home in Torquay and Saffron Care Agency in Teignmouth have also been placed into special measures.

It's believed he was working on his van in Buddle Lane when he had a "medical episode" at about 14:20.
The road was closed while emergency vehicles took him to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
It has since reopened.

It's claimed potential changes in the payment system could leave some carers losing between £5,000 and £15,000 a year.

New efforts are under way to try to keep the peace between locals and students in Exeter.
Temporary red lines will mark the Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) area across the city centre between Sunday 16 and Sunday 23 September.
The PSPO, which covers Fore Street, the High Street and Sidwell Street, means consumption of alcohol, along with other anti-social behaviour, can see people dispersed from the area and fined up to £1,000 at court if they return.

Signs will also highlight where alcohol cannot be drunk outside, and encourage students to be considerate to people living in the area.

The hospital is the fourth children's unit in the country to receive a Tesla car which is a battery-powered replica of the full size models, with a working MP3 sound system and space in the boot to carry toys and other belongings.
Children will be accompanied to theatre, X-ray or other appointments and will be able to drive the car themselves.

Dozens of foster carers are protesting at County Hall in Exeter over changes which they claim will see them lose between £5,000 and £15,000 a year.

But the higher payments for some carers mean others will lose out.
Under the plans being discussed by the county council, there will be a new minimum allowance of £229 per child, per week.
The top allowance will be £505 per child.

BBC News OnlinePolice are investigating the "unexplained" death of a 40-year-old woman in Plymouth.
Officers were called to Percy Terrace in Mutley at about 22:00 on 7 September.
The woman had "serious" head injuries and died the following day in the city's Derriford Hospital.
Formal identification is yet to take place. Police said her next-of-kin have been told.
A 25-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and has since been released under investigation pending further inquiries.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police via 101.
An investigation into the death continues.

BBC SpotlightA man from north Devon found with a 9kg (20lb) fertiliser bomb under his bed has been jailed for three years and four months.
Unemployed amphetamine addict Stephen Bracher, 55, had been working on 17 other devices when he was arrested at his home in Bishops Tawton, near Barnstaple, Exeter Crown Court heard.
Bracher admitted three counts of having explosive substances, one of possessing a lock knife and one of possessing amphetamines.
Police found jottings which indicated extreme hatred of black and gay people.
The court heard Bracher, who was addicted to various drugs, lived in a communal block which backed on to the local primary school.
When the fertiliser bomb was later blown up on Dartmoor by a bomb disposal team the court heard it made a "significant explosion" and it's not known how much damage it would have caused.

A 16-year-old boy has died after a serious crash in Exeter.
Ben Davies, from the city, suffered life-threatening injuries after his bicycle was involved in a crash with a silver Ford Fiesta at the junction of Tithebarn Way and Pinn Lane on Thursday.
He was taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital where he died from his injuries on Saturday.
The driver and front seat passenger of the Ford Fiesta were not injured.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Team are investigating and appealing for any witnesses to contact them.

Jodie Booker, 15, who was missing from Okehampton earlier has been found safe and well, police have said.
She was last seen on Friday. Police said the teenager was found on Monday morning.
