    The A38 Glynn Valley remains blocked in both directions between Doublebois and Carminnow Cross due to an earlier crash.

    A diversion is in place via the A390 and that route is very busy. Delays have been compounded by roadworks through Lostwithiel.

    Some businesses and residents in Dawlish are asking Network Rail to think again about plans to raise the height of the sea wall.

    The proposed increase of up to 8ft (2.5m) aims to protect the main railway line from extreme weather conditions and rising sea levels.

    But nearly 60 objections have been lodged ahead of the plans going before Teignbridge District Council today.

    Newquay Zoo has two new residents - great white pelicans.

    Found mainly in Africa, India and south eastern Europe, the zoo said the birds typically inhabit large fresh water savannah lakes, wetlands and marshes.

    They are also one of the world's largest flying birds and can have a wingspan of up to 10ft (3m).

    Zoo curator John Meek said people were surprised at just "how huge they were".

    He said: "Even from a distance, they just look massive."

    Senior bird keeper Gary Ward said the pair were "still getting used to their surroundings, so they are a little nervous" but he was hopeful.

    A three-day inquiry into plans for a mega egg farm which would be home to 112,000 birds starts later.

    Local residents have been fighting the plans for the egg farm on land at Nancegollan, near Helston.

    Cornwall Council refused to grant planning permission for the development last year but the applicants have appealed the decision.

    It will hear evidence from a number of people including the applicants and their opponents which the inspector will consider before making a decision.

    Under the plans the applicants, Richland Foods Ltd, wanted to build four sheds which would have tiers inside – three of the sheds would have 32,000 birds each and the fourth would have 16,000.

    Flat owners living in a block of housing association flats in Plymouth have each been sent a bill demanding £20,000 for maintenance costs.

    Some of the residents in Artillery Place bought their waterfront flats under right to buy when they were council properties.

    But Plymouth Community Homes now own the freehold and they're charging leaseholders for their share of the cost of extensive work to the building.

    Resident, Vanessa Horsfall, is taking legal advice on claiming the building has been subject to historic neglect.

    Plymouth Community homes said it offers a generous scheme giving leaseholders living in their flats five years to pay.

    Controversial plans for a new sea wall at Dawlish will be considered by planners later.

    Network Rail said the project will protect the main railway line from extreme weather conditions and rising sea levels.

    Planners at Teignbridge District Council are recommending the scheme for approval despite dozens of objections.

    The scheme would see the wall heightened by 8ft (2.5m) and also widened - but some locals are concerned this would destroy views of the sea and ruin the appearance of the town.

    Exeter Cathedral has shared a French prayer for the people of Paris after a major fire engulfed the Notre-Dame.

    Firefighters fought to save the 850-year-old Gothic building on Monday night, but its spire and roof collapsed.

    The Devon cathedral tweeted a supportive message in French, which read: "We pray for the city of Paris, and the community of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame."

    French President Emmanuel Macron has vowed to rebuild the medieval cathedral.
