A new national lockdown has begun in England, with people ordered to stay at home except for a handful or permitted reasons.
Announcing the lockdown, which is due to last until at least mid-February, Prime Minster Boris Johnson warned the coming weeks would be the "hardest yet".
He ordered all schools and colleges to shut from Tuesday and move to remote learning.
People are being told to stay indoors other than for limited exceptions - such as essential medical needs, food shopping, exercise and work that cannot be done at home.
For Devon and Cornwall the announcement means all non-essential shops, beauty salons and gyms will have to close and people will no longer be permitted to meet outside in groups of up to six.
Leisure, entertainment and outdoor sports venues will also be forced to shut.
We will be following the latest news and reaction from across the region on this page.
