    Johanna Carr
    BBC News Online

People enjoying a camping holiday in Cornwall should not pack up and go home just yet but need to be aware of the conditions, a camping shop owner has said.

Damian Rowe, who owns Newquay Camping and Leisure, said he thought the problem with the weather warnings and Boardmasters was more to do with the festival infrastructure rather than people camping.

"A few years ago they had to cancel because the wind picked up and the stage nearly (collapsed)," he said.

Mr Rowe said for other people camping in Cornwall should take precautions.

"Make sure you get plenty of tent pegs, put more guy lines on your tent and make sure everything is as secure as it can be," he said.

He added the cancellation was the right decision as the Boardmasters stage was as exposed as it could be.

"If something did happen it would ruin Boardmasters forever," he said.
