  4. Passengers describe their frustration at latest rail delayspublished at 09:30 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

We've been speaking to rail passengers waiting in a queue at Ipswich station for a rail replacement bus.

    Among the comments:

    • "It's disgusting - I pay £600 a month for a season ticket and I'm going to be late for work - it's unacceptable"
    • "The service we're receiving is not up to standard. We're paying an absolute fortune to jump on a train, to then find we've got to stand outside in the cold with no-one from the train operating company actually offering us any apology"
    • "I have to do this every day and this isn't the first time I've been delayed frankly they should be putting more buses on and more help"

Are you affected by this disruption on the rails? Send us an email, or post a message on our Facebook page, external.

  5. Greater Anglia delays likely until middaypublished at 08:55 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

    Philippa Taylor
    BBC Local Live

A spokeswoman for Greater Anglia has told us the freight train that's broken down between Norwich and Colchester is being moved "very slowly".

In the meantime she advised customers travelling via Ipswich to delay their journeys where possible, explaining that while there is a bus replacement service in operation, its capacity is "limited" and won't be able to cater for everyone trying to travel.

We'll let you know as soon as we're told definitely that services are running again, but the train company's website says "disruption is expected until 12:00".

  7. Domestic violence courses aim to change behaviour of violent menpublished at 08:42 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

More than 650 men nationally referred themselves onto domestic violence prevention courses last year.

The courses, which last anything from 20 to 48 weeks, aim to change the behaviour of violent men who abuse their partners or former partners.

They operate through small groups and aim to demonstrate non-abusive ways of dealing with difficulties in relationships.

Last year 96 people attended such courses in Essex with 24 being self-referrers. Five men self-referred in Bedfordshire, while 11 did in Hertfordshire.

  8. Domestic violence prevention course 'changed me immensely'published at 08:38 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

    BBC Look East

A man who completed a domestic violence prevention course after punching his partner so hard she had to have plastic surgery said he will never forgive himself.

He said the course he took "changed me immensely".

He added: "One of the hardest questions I was ever asked was 'how does your partner feel about you?' I had nightmares that night, I cried, it made me realise what I had done. I'm a big guy and I intimidated her."

The news comes in the wake of a national study, published last week by domestic abuse charity Women's Aid, which said that between 2009 and 2015, 936 women were killed by men.

  9. Domestic violence: 'It dawned on me what I'd done... I hurt someone I really cared about'published at 08:36 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

    BBC Look East

A man who referred himself to a domestic violence prevention programme has challenged others to be "totally honest" and make a change.

Speaking of the moment he punched his partner so hard she needed plastic surgery, he said: "At the time I thought I was right in what I was doing... it was when I was arrested that I felt absolutely devastated about what I had done.

"It dawned on me what I had done. I was shown pictures by the police. I hurt her and this was someone I loved, someone I really cared about and I'd caused this pain to her."

Figures from Respect showed 668 men self-referred to such programmes last year. In the east of England, it included 24 referrals in Essex and 11 in Hertfordshire.

A number of our police forces are launching campaigns leading up to Christmas. In this region it's estimated 142,000 and 81,000 men were victims of domestic abuse in the last year.
