Jane Hambling, 27, who was born with cerebral palsy, used to dance with her electric chair but says as she progressed she realised she needed a manual sports version.

She launched a justgiving page, but only raised half of what she needed.

Lynne Groves, who lives in Chelmsford and whose daughter is a friend of Jane's, offered to help out and gave her the remainder.

She said one of her greatest joys of winning is the "ability to help out where I think it's needed most".

Jane said: "I'm still getting the hang of my new chair but I’m improving day by day and have big plans. My ultimate aim is to reach the Nationals and from there compete on the international circuit."
