  1. Oxford band rebailed following Hong Kong arrestspublished at 09:53 British Summer Time 7 June 2017

    British band TTNG and US musician Mylets, who were arrested in Hong Kong over alleged visa offences, have been rebailed.

    The acts were held after a raid by police and immigration officers on a warehouse venue in May.

    They have since raised almost £8,000 in crowdfunding to pay for plane fares.

    TTNG, who are from Oxford, said they were "truly grateful for the compassion and understanding" shown by fans.

  3. Bumpy re-start for Cowes floating bridgepublished at 09:27 British Summer Time 7 June 2017

    Car bumpers are still scraping on the new troubled Cowes chain ferry.

    Video footage taken this morning shows some cars are still scraping as they disembark from the chain ferry onto the slipway.

    The vessel returned to service earlier following its suspension by The Maritime and Coastguard Agency on 16 May over "training issues".

    The council has been asked to comment.

    The Floating Bridge replaced an old vessel that had crossed between Cowes and East Cowes for 40 years.

  4. Arrest over Southampton sex assaultpublished at 09:26 British Summer Time 7 June 2017

    A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault after a woman was attacked on Harbour Parade in Southampton.

    The 22-year-old woman was walking along the walkway next to Matalan on Harbour Parade just before 13:00 on April 10 when she was approached from behind by a man who assaulted her. The man then exposed himself to her when she turned around.

  6. Sea City Musem remains closed following firepublished at 09:06 British Summer Time 7 June 2017

    Southampton's Sea City Museum remains closed today following a fire in a display area yesterday.

    Firefighters were called shortly before 12:30 and quickly extinguished the blaze. All staff and visitors had been evacuated from the building.

    None of the museum's artifacts were damaged. It is expected to open to the public again on Thursday.

  7. Crews battle Curdridge greenhouse blazepublished at 08:50 British Summer Time 7 June 2017

    Fire crews are tackling a blaze at a commercial greenhouse in Curdridge.

    Six crews are at the scene of the fire in Wangfield Lane which also involves two lorries.

    Nobody has been been injured in the fire which started shortly before 05:30 BST.

    It is not yet known how the fire started.

    The village of Sonning has two new residents as Amal Clooney has given birth to twins - a girl named Ella and a boy named Alexander.

    They were born in London on Tuesday morning, the publicist of her actor husband George Clooney said.

    Clooney moved to Sonning, where he lives with his human rights lawyer wife Amal, in 2014.

  9. Arrest warrant for vicar accused of historical rapepublished at 08:21 British Summer Time 7 June 2017

    An arrest warrant has been issued for a 70-year-old former vicar accused of raping a young man in the 1980s.

    Trevor Devamanikkam, from Witney, failed to appear at Bradford Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

    Mr Devamanikkam is charged with six serious sexual offences committed while he was a vicar in the city.

    The offences are alleged to have taken place between March 1984 and April 1985, when the victim was 16 years old.
