    An "extremely rare" copy of Mein Kampf signed by Adolf Hitler is to be sold at auction.

    The blue cloth-covered 1935 edition bears the Nazi dictator's signature on the front fly leaf.

    It was presented to former BBC and Oxford Mail journalist Peter Cadogan during a visit to Munich in the late 1930s.

    It will be sold at Silverwoods auction house in Clitheroe, Lancashire, and is expected to raise more than £1,000.

  2. Accordion burglaries feature on Crimewatch Roadshowpublished at 11:39 British Summer Time 15 June 2017

    Officers investigating a series of burglaries which saw valuable accordions taken from a store in Sunningdale in Berkshire have appeared on TV to appeal for information.

    Instruments worth about £130,000 were taken when The Piano and Accordion Shop in London Road was first targeted in August last year.

    An attempted burglary then took place in January 2017, before the store was burgled again in February and April.

    Police said nearly £200,000 worth of stock was taken, and have appeared on Crimewatch Roadshow to appeal for information. They've also re-released CCTV images of three men who may be able to help with their inquiries.

    A brother and sister arrested on suspicion of murdering a man in secluded woodland have been released.

    Wayne Digby, 48, was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the abdomen near the Colnbrook bypass in Slough, Berkshire, on Monday.

    Police said a 72-year-old man has been released under investigation and a woman, 54, released without charge.

    Anthony Hearn, 48, has been charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary in relation to the incident.

    Mr Hearn, of Moreland Close in Colnbrook, will appear at Slough Magistrates' Court later.

    A school in Oxfordshire is renaming a building today to honour a former pupil who died in a car crash which killed four people in 2005.

    Howard Hillsdon was 21 when his car was hit by a vehicle coming the other way on the Oxford Eastern Bybass - three other children died in the crash.

    William Fletcher School in Yarnton will be dedicating a building to Howard Hillsdon.

    Responses published by NHS Dorset CCG showed support for making one hospital specialise in planned care, and another on major emergencies.

    More than half of respondents liked the idea, but they were split on whether they should be at Bournemouth or Poole.

    The report also found overwhelming opposition to proposals to scale back children's facilities in Dorchester, and create a specialist unit for premature babies in Bournemouth.

    A campaign has been launched to save a building donated to the community from being sold off for private housing.

    Protesters want Reading's Arthur Hill Memorial Baths kept for community use, arguing the council has "no right to sell it off for housing development".

    The borough council said no restriction had ever been imposed "that would affect the... saleability of the site".

    The pool building on Kings Road was built in 1911 on land donated by the family of Arthur Hill.

    A group opposed to expanding Heathrow Airport says a third runway will be opposed by most MPs in London.

    His name is never out of the headlines, and "Trump" now seems to have taken over the playground too - as it is named children's "word of the year".

    The Oxford University Press analysed more than 130,000 children's stories submitted for BBC Radio 2's annual story-writing competition 500 Words.

    The US president's name came up more than any other - suggesting he has fired British children's imaginations.

    Other political terms mentioned in stories were "fake news" and "Brexit".

    Tributes have been paid to a man and woman who died in a multi-vehicle crash on the M3 in Hampshire.

    The collision between three lorries and an Audi happened on the northbound carriageway near Winchester on 6 June.

    Susan Curtis, 67, from Buckinghamshire, and Michael James, 77, from Dorset, who were travelling in the Audi, died.

    A 63-year-old man interviewed under caution in connection with the crash has since been released while inquiries continue.

    Southampton have sacked manager Claude Puel after one season in charge.

    The 55-year-old Frenchman, who was appointed in June 2016, led Saints to eighth in the Premier League last season despite losing 16 games.

    They also reached the League Cup final, their first major final since 2003.

    A Southampton statement read: "The search for a new management team is under way. We are confident that we will find the right fit in line with the long-term vision of the club."
