Studland is set to benefit from a share of £4.1m in National Lottery funding for the conservation of threatened sand dunes.
The National Trust, which manages the area and will receive the cash, said dunes were under threat from invasive scrub "which overshadows open areas loved by rare species such as sand lizards".

More than half of care home beds in some parts of England, including Portsmouth, are in homes rated poor or inadequate, analysis of figures has shown.
In six areas people needing care have more chance of moving into a poorly rated care home than a good one.
Age UK said older people and their families were being "badly let down".
The National Care Association said the care sector faced a number of challenges but there was no defence for poor care.
BBC Radio Oxford
A man from Finland has successfully contacted a BBC Local Radio station after he picked up its FM signal.
Unusual atmospheric conditions helped Pentti Lintujärvi hear Radio Oxford on his Sony FM receiver earlier this year.
After identifying it as the station Mr Lintujärvi got in touch with the BBC via email with a recording attached to confirm it was definitely the station.
It reached presenter Charles Nove, who said it was "a bit scratchy, but unmistakably our station".
Mr Lintujärvi lives in Väärinmaja - a village about 150 miles (240km) north of the Finnish capital Helsinki - and enjoys "dxing", which means listening to broadcasts from distant radio stations.
He has heard nearly all BBC local stations on medium wave over the years but said capturing one on FM was "something special".

Mr Hollyoake has raised about £50,000 for charity and the lights attract thousands of people across the festive period.
