A legal challenge to release government papers on Brexit is set to be made by Oxford City Council.
The Labour-run council believes the government holds papers about the impact on the region of leaving the EU.
Councillors have voted unanimously in favour of a bid to get them released - following the example of Plymouth City Council.
It says it needs "accurate and up-to-date information" to protect businesses and communities in Oxford.
The government said it remained confident it will secure a positive deal with the EU - and continues to work closely with local government, holding regular meetings to plan for Brexit.
A man remains in in hospital with life-threatening head and chest injuries after the attack.
