Tottenham v Southampton (Weds, 20:00 GMT)

    Southampton

After Mark Hughes' sacking, first-team coach Kelvin Davis has been named interim boss for Southampton's trip to Tottenham.

And that could be his one and only game in charge as the former keeper expects the club to install a permanent manager before Saturday's trip to Cardiff, with former RB Leipzig boss Ralph Hasenhuttl seen as the front-runner to replace Hughes.

Asked if him being given control only up to Wednesday's game suggests an appointment before the weekend, Davis replied: "To me it does indicate that. But whether that happens or not will be up to the guys upstairs. I'm taking the team up until Wednesday and we'll see after that."

It's a full midweek programme in the Premier League this week but they better get used to it...the festive period is upon us.

Bournemouth go into tomorrow's game on a four-match losing streak but boss Eddie Howe believes the Cherries have deserved more in recent weeks.

He added: "We know we're coming in to a busy period of fixtures. We need everyone in the squad to be ready to step up when called upon.

"We're on a tough run. The Newcastle game was a frustration for us, but in the other three games we've been happy with our performances.

"Huddersfield have had an upturn in results and we know it'll be tough. We need the atmosphere to be good here at Vitality Stadium, as it always is for our night games."
