    Two men have been arrested after a hit and run incident involving a car and cyclist in Oxford.

    It happened on Iffley Road between The Plain and Circus Street just after 19:00 yesterday.

    Thames Valley Police said a red Renault Clio failed to stop at the scene.

    The cyclist, a 20-year-old-woman, has been taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital with serious injuries.

    Police say two men from Oxford, aged 21 and 19, have been arrested but they believe three men were in the car and are continuing to investigate.

    A 14-year-old boy is in a "serious but stable condition" after being attacked in Portsmouth.

    Hampshire Constabulary said it had arrested another 14-year-old boy on suspicion of grevious bodily harm with intent.

    The force appealed for witnesses following the assault in Moneyfield Avenue at about 19:45 GMT on Monday.

    A former nightclub in Maidenhead has been destroyed by a fire.

    Roads around the Roma club on Queen Street are "likely to be closed for some time" as crews continue to put out the flames.

    Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service said 50 firefighters were at the scene. No casualties have been reported and the cause of the blaze is not yet known.

    Fire crews continue to work to bring the fire at the derelict Roma nightclub in Queen Street under control.

    The roof looks to have completely collapsed and flames can still be seen in parts of the building.

    Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service has issued a statement about the fire in Maidenhead:

    "At 1.58am on Tuesday, 12 March, we received reports of a fire in a derelict building in Queens Street, in Maidenhead town centre.

    "A total of 12 fire engines and two specialist high reach vehicles were sent to the scene, with approximately 50 firefighters from across Berkshire, supported by Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and London in dealing with the fire.

    "There are no casualties reported at this incident. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, an investigation will be carried out during the day.

    "Members of the public are advised that the surrounding roads will be closed for a number of hours, preventing access to Nicholsons car park on Broadway. We expect to be on scene for most of the day."
