    According to Western Power, many homes in the Worcester and Kidderminster areas won't have power until about 17:00.

    A victory for Worcester City last night has enabled them to move out of the Vanarama North relegation places.

    They beat visiting Boston United 2-1 at Aggborough. 

    Scheduled matches for Evesham United and Hereford FC were both postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

  4. Storm Barney: Wait for power to returnpublished at 12:03

    Western Power says some homes in the two counties will be without power until this evening.

    Engineers are out working to restore supplies and concerned residents can check on this map, external to see what their estimated restoration time is. 

    Some properties near Leominster that lost power at about 20:40 last night won't have power until about 17:00. 

    Meanwhile, those living in the Tenbury Wells area who were cut off at about 18:00 are expected to get their electricity supply back at about 20:00.

  5. 'Drop' in food bank usagepublished at 11:45

    More than 48,000 people across the West Midlands, including 5,000 in Worcestershire, were fed by a food bank charity in the spring and summer, latest figures show.

    The Trussell Trust said that's a slight drop - down by 800 - compared to the same period last year.

    The charity gives out emergency three-day food parcels to people in crisis and runs seven food banks in Worcestershire.

  6. 'Candle-powered kitchen' after storm caused blackoutpublished at 11:30 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2015

    Herefordshire resident Melanie Denning sent in a picture of her family coping in a blackout last night, all thanks to Storm Barney.

    She lives in Dormington, five miles outside Hereford, and was without power from 19:00 until 03:00 GMT and so resorted to a makeshift candle-powered kitchen.

    Hundreds of homes were left without power this morning.

  7. What does the future hold for Alexandra Hospital?published at 11:12

    Two Worcestershire MPs will meet the health secretary later to discuss the future of Redditch's Alexandra Hospital.

    Sajid Javid, Bromgrove MP, and Redditch MP Karen Lumley will talk to Jeremy Hunt about the recent closure neonatal services there because of staff shortages.

    Ms Lumley says she believes putting the trust that runs it into special measures would bring some benefits.

    Herefordshire Council wants you to have your say on the multimillion-pound revamp for the city.

    The £2.5m plans, which include the re-paving High Town, Commercial Street and the top of Broad Street, are on display for the next two days in the lobby of Lloyds Bank in High Town.

    The redevelopment comes less than a decade after a controversial £2m revamp of the same area which left paving and street lettering crumbling just a few weeks after being unveiled.

    A fallen tree is blocking Back Lane North in Worcester this morning after the strong winds that hit the county overnight.

    An American football post has also come down on a pitch next to the racecourse.

    The aftermath of Storm Barney is being felt across the two counties this morning, as hundreds of homes are without power.

    Engineers are working to restore electricity to more than 700 homes across Herefordshire and Worcestershire after power lines were brought down.

    Western Power said more than 3,000 homes - mainly in Derbyshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire, external - were still cut off on Wednesday.

  13. Motorists cut free after collisionpublished at 09:53

    Two men were trapped in their vehicles after two cars collided in Malvern.

    Firefighters had to cut them free after the crash in Guarlford Road last night.

    One man was taken to hospital with injuries to his leg, arm and pelvis injuries and the second driver also needed treatment for a leg injury, paramedics said.

  14. High Town revamp in Herefordpublished at 09:31

    A public consultation is being held over the next two days on a £2.5m makeover of Hereford city centre.

    The three-year scheme will see roads and pavements in High Town replaced, a new cycle lane on St Owen Street and new street furniture.

    Hereford and Worcester Fire Service says it had a "high volume" of weather-related calls overnight due to fallen trees and overhead cables.  

    Part of the M5 in Worcestershire was closed last night after a lorry overturned in the high winds.
