Plans are underway for two families of refugees fleeing the Syrian war, external to be resettled in Kidderminster.
A hoard of war memorabilia owned by a Worcestershire farmer could fetch £100,000 at auction today.
John Hancock's collection includes the tail of a lightning jet, a dozen ejector seats, army uniforms, and parachutes.
Mr Hancocks, who also served at RAF bases in Padgate, near Manchester, Colerne in Wiltshire, and Little Rissington in the Cotswolds, is selling up so he and he and his wife Pat, 83, can downsize.

Here's more on our main story about the low-hanging power cables that have closed the A448 at the Foxlydiate and Webheath junction near Redditch.
Motorists have been moving barriers so that they can still access the main Bromsgrove to Redditch road - driving underneath the damaged electric cables. The council has described their actions as "incredibly dangerous".
The road was closed this morning after cables that carry 66,000 volts of electricity drooped near to the carriageway. The B4096 Hewell Lane was also shut.

A charity responsible for looking after the Syrian refugee families coming to Worcestershire says it hopes they'll be able to integrate into the community.
The first families are scheduled to arrive in Redditch at the end of June, with plans to find further properties in the town and Kidderminster for a further four families, who are set to arrive in mid-July.

As you can see in the second photo, the The B4096 Hewell Lane is also closed.
There's been a 12% drop in the number of West Mercia Police dedicated traffic officers out on the roads, figures suggest.
According to the RAC, the force lost 10 officers between 2014 and 2015.

The main route between Redditch and Bromsgrove could be closed all day because of power lines that are "hanging loosely over the road", the county council says.
The A448 has been closed at the Foxlydiate and Webheath junction near Redditch. The B4026 Hewell Lane is also closed.
Western Power says it has a team of engineers on their way and no homes have lost their power.
