    A young girl is still in hospital with very serious injuries after being hit by a car in Kidderminster yesterday.

    She was struck as she crossed the road with a woman just after 15:00 at the Sutton Park Road junction with Stourport Road.

    The woman, who's in her 40s, was also pushing a pram, but the baby wasn't hurt.

    A Hereford man is hoping to raise £100,000 for three local charities to mark his 90th year, taking inspiration from the efforts of Captain Sir Tom Moore.

    Alan Blake is supporting the Hereford City Rotary Club, Parkinson's UK and St Mary's Church in Burghill by climbing the steep route around his riverside home every day.

    Three men have been arrested following a raid at a factory unit where a "substantial" amount of cannabis was growing,

    On Monday, officers in Redditch executed a warrant at Washford Mill Trading estate in Matchborough.

    Three men aged 17, 24 and 26, who were living inside the property, have been charged with production of Class B Drugs.

    West Mercia Police discovered 10 rooms specially designed for growing cannabis.

    The force said the haul had a street value of hundreds of thousands of pounds.

    Hundreds of hospital patients were discharged into care homes during the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic without being tested first.

    Figures obtained by BBC Hereford and Worcester show that between March and May more than 200 vulnerable people were placed in care homes without anyone knowing if they were carrying the virus.

    Bev Anderson runs Stretton Nursing Home near Hereford. Twelve of its residents died from Covid-19 during the first wave.

    "It hit us so quick, one minute no-one had any symptoms then, 24 hours later, people started to die.

    "We spent many many of our breaks just taking five minutes where we'd be crying."

    The Department of Health says £1bn is being pumped into protecting care settings from the virus this winter.

    The body of a man recovered from water at Shrawley, near Worcester. is believed to be that of a man who had been reported as missing.

    The body was found in the River Severn on Friday.

    Formal identification has not yet taken place, but officers strongly believe it to be of a man last seen in Great Witley, police said.

    The death is not being treated as suspicious.

    A witness appeal has been launched after a man was assaulted on a Hereford street.

    He was punched in Eign Gate by a man as he approached the subway passage, officers said.

    The assault happened between 17:30 and 18:00 on Sunday, said West Mercia Police.

    It is asking for any witnesses to come forward.

    The planned Lowesmoor development in Worcester has come about after two years of discussions between Godwin Developments and Lowesmoor Wharf Developments and Worcester City Council.

    If it goes ahead it will link up to the city's marina and make use of some of the existing industrial buildings there, which would be rennovated.

    There are plans for balconies and roof gardens and the developers have said the scheme will be "car-free", with hundreds of cycling spaces provided.

    An £85m plan to transform Lowesmoor Wharf in Worcester has been revealed.

    It is currently a small industrial park, but if the plans are approved it would include 271 apartments, as well as shops, restaurants and office space - all based around the outline of the canal basin.
