    A woman in her 50s has been airlifted to hospital after a four-vehicle crash on the A442 near Hampton Lovett this morning.

    West Midlands Ambulance Service says, external the woman was trapped in her car for 90 minutes before she was cut free by firefighters.

    A spokesman for the ambulance service said she was treated for a suspected fractured right leg, before she was airlifted to Worcester Royal Hospital.

    The air ambulance has taken one person to hospital. Three people are reported injured and are receiving treatment.

    The Fire Service has urged drivers to avoid the area and expects the road to be closed for another hour.

    Police are at the scene directing traffic.

    A Herefordshire woman has unearthed the story of her three great uncles who died during the First World War. 

    Tom Wilmot from Perrystone near Ross was killed in the Somme - the battle that started 100 years ago this week and claimed the lives of more than a million men. 

    His great niece has met pupils at his old school, Hereford Cathedral (pictured), to tell them about Tom and his brothers.

    The trust running hospitals in Worcestershire says Sunday was probably the busiest day ever in its A&E departments.

    At one point, there were fourteen patients in hospital corridors, with no beds available. 

    Fourteen extra beds have been created at the Worcester site and eight in Redditch, Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust says.

    Bromsgrove's new railway station is set to open next month, officials have confirmed.

    The £24m site, which has longer platforms, a waiting room and a 350-space car park, was expected to open to passengers last November.
