    The University of Worcester is appealing for people to come forward with their memories of their St John's campus

    The campus was founded in 1946, when it was a teacher training college. It became a university in 2005.

    The project, called The Worcester Spirit: Stories from the campus, will use stories from alumni, staff and the local community.

  10. Kempsey cash machine raid: 'Significant damage' to front of shoppublished at 11:54 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2017

    Raiders have caused "significant damage" to the front of the village store in Kempsey after they used a JCB to steal the cash machine, police say.

    West Mercia Police say the JCB is believed to have been stolen from a nearby yard.

    The machine was left at the scene after the cash machine was taken in the early hours of this morning.

    Companies from across the two counties have donated trees and hedges, as well as labour, so work can be completed on a new war memorial. 

    A granite tribute to the 1,700 glider and tug pilots who trained at RAF Shobdon during World War Two was unveiled in September.

    A team has now put the finishing touches to the project using the trees and hedges donated by local firms.

    Rupert Keys's company was one of those working on the project, and he says it's important to remember the sacrifices made by the glider pilots.

    The Virgin Mary is being cited by campaigners opposed to plans to build more than 200 new homes in Evesham.

    Land along Abbey Road in the town has been earmarked for houses as part of the South Worcestershire Development Plan, external, with a developer's application currently waiting for approval from councillors. 

    Campaigners opposed to the plan claim the farmland has seen sightings of the Virgin Mary over the years, including by the town's legendary founder E-Off, or Urth.

    We've been to meet a 74-year-old man from Worcestershire who has incurable motor neurone disease and has since set up a support network to help others.

    John King, from Tenbury Wells, was diagnosed in April last year and has been told to expect to be in a wheelchair by the end of the year.

    The crisis-hit NHS trust which runs Worcestershire Royal Hospital is set to remain in "special measures", external due to ongoing concerns over care, it has been revealed.
