    A man has stolen cash from a van outside a NatWest branch in Kidderminster.

    Police say the offender approached, external a security guard outside the van and hit him on the head before leaving the scene.

    It happened at around 11:30 today outside NatWest on High Street, Kidderminster.

    The security guard suffered minor injuries.

    We've been sent in a picture all the way from a very sunny Antigua. 

    It's of some of the team who took part in a rowing challenge, raising over £500,000 towards tackling youth suicide.

    Harry Wentworth-Stanley and three friends rowed 3,000 miles across the Atlantic in memory of his brother James, who killed himself at the family's home in Broadway in 2006.

  7. Pool opening: Paralympic swimmers display medalspublished at 15:34 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2017

    A new £10.5m swimming centre is officially opening in Worcester today. 

    The Perdiswell Leisure Centre has eight 25m lanes, a teaching pool and gym. 

    The pool is being opened by the city's mayor, as well as Paralympic swimmer Rebecca Redfern - who won silver in the women's SB13 100m breaststroke in Rio. 

    Here she is proudly displaying her medal with fellow athlete Claire Cashmore, who also won silver at Rio.

    An Ofsted inspection, external has rated Worcestershire County Council's children service "inadequate".     

    The report talks of "widespread and serious failures" in the services provided to children who are in need of help and protection.  

    Worcestershire County Council say they are "confident" that the "right leadership is now in place".

    Clare Marchant, the council's chief executive, apologised to children and families and said they "accept the findings".

    Lock snapping equipment has been used in two daytime burglaries in Redditch, police say, external

    Yesterday, the person living in a house in Stoneleigh Close, Oakenshaw disturbed a burglar.

    When confronted, the burglar ran out of the property and jumped over a fence.

    On the same day, police were called by the owner of a house in Brookfield Close, Hunt End after it was burgled. 

    The burglar stole jewellery from the bottom drawer in the bedroom worth between £4,000 and £5,000.

    Cancer surgeon Sudip Sarker has pleaded not guilty to fraud by "exaggerating his qualifications". 

    It's alleged he had done 51 sigmoid colonoscopies independently when he applied for a job at the trust running hospitals in Worcestershire.

    A man from Redditch has been banned from keeping dogs for 10 years after pleading guilty to two counts of cruelty. 

    In 2014, 45-year-old Anthony Poole was found to own a stray Rottweiler which was underweight and in poor condition.

    Last year he was found by dog wardens to have caused unnecessary suffering to a Rottweiler and a Staffordshire bull terrier. 

    Poole has also been given a 12-month community order with a 15-week curfew and ordered to pay costs of around £1,500.

    Homeless football club Gloucester City have announced a new groundshare for next season.

    The team will be joining Evesham United for the 2017/18 season on a one year deal, with the option to extend it for a second year if necessary.

    Severe floods in 2007 caused irreparable damage to Gloucester's Meadow Park ground (pictured above) and since then the team has had to go nomad around the county. 

    Cheltenham Town FC opened the doors of Whaddon Road to the National League North side in 2010.

    It's the first time the National League team have had to set up a home outside of the county and the club has told fans it will look for ways to help them with travel on match days.

    Plans for a new stadium at Meadow Park were approved in September, allowing work to begin.
