    Worcester City are in action this evening as they host Brackley Town at the Victoria Ground. 

    City were disappointing in losing 2-0 at home to Boston United on Saturday.

    Caretaker manager, John Snape, admits his side will have to up its performance levels if they are to take anything from tonight's fixture.

  7. Woman to be deported to Philippines 'hopes to win her a temporary reprieve' published at 17:17 Greenwich Mean Time 21 March 2017

    A Hereford man, whose Filipino wife is facing deportation, says they're still hopeful she'll be able to leave the country of her own free will , rather than being forcibly put on a plane by the immigration authorities. 

    Marinel Bristow has been in a detention centre since she was arrested last week.

    Her husband Rob says she wasn't put on a plane yesterday as they feared and her lawyer is hoping to win her a temporary reprieve for two weeks.

  8. Mother 'changed her account to police' says prosecutorpublished at 17:06 Greenwich Mean Time 21 March 2017

    A mother and father exposed their son to "an obvious risk of death" which led him drowning in a bath tub, a court heard today.

    Lisa Passey, 28, and 45-year-old Wayne Dale's son Kian, who was 13-months-old, died in the bath after he was left alone in September 2015.

    The couple are standing trial accused of his manslaughter.

    Mr Dale told police officers he had only left his son for "a couple of minutes" after he "had a beer, rolled a cigarette outside and burned a CD".

    Prosecutor Jonas Hankin QC said Ms Passey originally claimed that she had not run a bath, but twice changed her account.

    The trial at Worcester Crown Court is due to last three weeks. Both deny the charge.

  10. Harriers have Carter and Waite for tonight's game against Tamworth published at 16:36 Greenwich Mean Time 21 March 2017

    Kidderminster Harriers will be able to select both Ashley Carter and Tyrell Waite for tonight's game at Tamworth, external - even though both players were sent off on Saturday.

    Suspensions in Vanarama North don't come into effect until 10 days after the offence, so both can play this evening.

    Carter is facing a four-match ban as this was his second red card of the season.

  12. Father burnt UB40 CD while son drowned in the bath, court hears published at 15:55 Greenwich Mean Time 21 March 2017

    A couple charged with neglecting their 13-month-old son after he was left alone to die in a bath both deny manslaughter by gross negligence.

    The jury at Worcester Crown Court heard that a neighbour who had called in and the child's mother, Lisa Passey, "drank coffee together and smoked cigarettes" in the sun on the patio, before the boy's father, Wayne Dale, went downstairs to join them. 

    Mr Dale burnt a UB40 music CD on the computer, after the friend's request. Analysis from the computer showed it was first logged on at 17:33 until 17:46.

    Prosecutor, Jonas Hankin QC, said: "The time that Wayne Dale spent using the computer doesn't include additional time he spent smoking and drinking outside while talking to [their friend] and Lisa Passey." 

    "When, finally, Wayne Dale went upstairs to the bathroom, baby Kian had drowned."

    The trial continues.

    A couple left their son alone in a bath where he drowned as they entertained a friend, a jury at Worcester Crown Court heard.

    Lisa Passey, of Tenbury Wells, and Wayne Dale, of no fixed address, are accused of manslaughter by gross negligence after leaving their 13-month-old son, Kian Dale, in a bath by himself.

    The jury heard that Mr Dale, 45, went downstairs, leaving his son alone for 13 minutes - when he came back, Kian was lifeless in the water. His partner then rang 999.

    The jury heard that Mr Dale was with a family friend and his 28-year-old partner, "socialising, listening to music and using his computer".

    Both deny the charge and their trial is set to last up to three weeks. 

  14. Crowdfunding by Harriers secures a new strikerpublished at 15:09 Greenwich Mean Time 21 March 2017

    Kidderminster Harriers have signed striker Joe Ironside, external from Nuneaton Town.

    The transfer only happened after a crowding funding page was set-up , external by the club last year to raise £10,000.

    The club says they paid a five-figure fee to Nuneaton for the 23-year-old which will tie him to the club until the summer of 2019.

    Ironside already has 18 goals in all competitions this season and goes straight into the squad for tonight's match at Tamworth.

    The Spring Festival is being held from Thursday to Sunday, the 11-14 May.  

  16. Researcher sing the praises of care centres for dementia sufferers published at 14:11 Greenwich Mean Time 21 March 2017

    An international conference in Worcester today has been hearing about a Dutch method of helping people with dementia. 

    The National Association for Dementia Research is based at the university.

    Two pilot centres in Droitwich and Leominster have helped people and their families. It's a low cost way of providing community support.

    USA international and ex-American footballer player, Joe Taufete'e,  has confirmed he's staying at Worcester Warriors. 

    The 24-year-old hooker says: "I've quickly warmed to life at Warriors where there are a great bunch of players. I'm looking forward to showing more of what I can do in the near future."
