    This suitcase is part of an art project called ToHull, external.

    I've been chatting to the guy behind the idea Hull businessman Huw Morris-Jones (that's him on the left) and the project's lead Paul Dennis (right).

    It's me in the middle, just in case you weren't sure.

    Anyway, the point is they're looking for "Art Carriers" to pick up and drop off hundreds of suitcases at destinations across northern Europe.

    You'll soon be able to fly direct to Denmark.

    The Danish airline SUN-AIR, a franchise partner of British Airways, opens a new route between Humberside and Aalborg and Billund on Sunday, 17 April.

    It's because the Humber area and the Jutland region of Denmark are both major wind power hubs.

    Hundreds of Siemens recruits will use the service to travel between the new wind turbine blade factory in Hull and Siemens existing blade factory in Aalborg for training.

  5. Long-awaited marina development 'likely'published at 12:25 British Summer Time 6 April 2016

    There's a real chance that Bridlington’s new harbour and marina development will go ahead this time.

    The interim director of the project, Pete Ashcroft says it's highly likely.

    They expect to invite tenders for the 320-berth marina in about 18-months' time.

    This is Beverley's police station on New Walk.

    The Police and Crime Commissioner's office say there are no plans to sell it off at the moment.

    The police had at one time looked at moving to the Flemingate development, but there weren't any suitable premises available.

    I'm told they would consider moving if a suitable alternative was found.

    From today every dog in Hull and East Yorkshire has to be microchipped by law.

    Did you see the accident on North Road in Hull yesterday, external afternoon?

    A motorcyclist was killed in the crash which also involved three cars.

    People who saw what happened are being asked to contact Humberside Police.

    The Business Secretary, Sajid Javid, is preparing to hold talks in India with the chairman of Tata about the future of its steel plants in the UK. 

    The firm wants to sell its loss-making British operations, threatening thousands of jobs.

    Ballot papers will today start landing on the doorsteps of union members in Tata Steel’s Scunthorpe-based Long Products subsidiary.

    Steelworkers are voting on a proposal for a temporary change in terms and conditions as part of the impending sale to Greybull capital.

    Junior doctors have begun another 48-hour strike today over a continuing dispute with the government to contract changes.

    Have you been affected but the strike which began this morning? 

    It's the fourth walk out in the junior doctors' continuing dispute with the government over changes to pay and working conditions.

    It will last for 48 hours and has led to 426 appointments being cancelled in Hull and East Yorkshire.

    Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust says patients should still turn up for appointments unless you have been told otherwise.

    Did you know that Bertie Wooster's immaculate manservant Jeeves was actually named after a Goole cricketer?

    And a plaque to remember the real Percy Jeeves will be unveiled in the town where he grew up today.

    He played for Goole Cricket Club before turning professional and playing for Warwickshire.

    His name was immortalised after the writer PG Wodehouse spotted him play and used his name for the now famous character.

    We've been hearing on Breakfast about calls for congestion on main roads in and out of Hull to be improved in time for City of Culture year.

    Hull was recently named as one of the most congested cities in the UK for commuters.

    Hull Councillor Martin Mancey says there is no simple solution.

    Councillor Vanessa Walker will raise the issue at an East Riding Council meeting today.

    A cloudy start to the day across much of the region with a few bright spells across East Yorkshire in particular. 

    Showers will spread eastwards throughout the morning and these will intensify by this afternoon and turn wintry on hills. 

    We will see a few sunny spells in between these downpours but it will feel noticeably colder with a fresh to strong north-westerly wind.
