    Humberside Police say they're searching for the driver of a stolen vehicle which was being driven in a dangerous manner in the Priory Road area of Hull.

    The vehicle, a blue Volvo, has been abandoned by the driver and is now being recovered by police.

    Measure have been put in place to address problems at a school which received a damning Ofsted report. 

    Driffield School and Sixth Form has been put in to special measures after the latest report highlighted concerns about student safety and bullying.

    Inspectors said the school is failing to give its pupils an acceptable standard of education.

    Some shops in Hull are using "James Bond-style" secret compartments to hide illicit goods say trading standards officers. 

    Several shops have had their alcohol licences revoked recently with one shop narrowly escaping action after illegal cigarettes were found.

    Trading Standards manager for Hull City Council Chris Wilson said some are going to extremes to hide illegal products.

    The trade unions involved in the sale of the Long products division at Scunthorpe's TATA steel plant have voted to accept a temporary pay cut and changes to pensions. 

    Over two thirds voted in favour of the changes, in order to secure the plant's long term future.

    Humberside Police, external are appealing for witnesses after laptops were stolen from Bilton Primary school in Hull. 

    The incident happened between 20;00 and 20:30 BST on Monday when a manhole cover was used to smash a window to gain access to the School Lane building.

    Humberside Police has warned of the dangers of copper smelting after a fire destroyed homes in Hull.

    A two-year-old girl was taken to hospital as a "precautionary measure" following the blaze in a first-floor flat on Roborough Close on Monday.

    The force said it suspected "criminal activity" as remnants of copper were found in the burnt out flat.

    People living on or near the East Yorkshire coast are being asked for ideas on how to make the villages better places to live and visit. 

    East Riding of Yorkshire Council, external has been awarded money from the Coastal Opportunities Gateway and they want ideas on how best to invest it in villages like Skipsea and Aldbrough.

    Network Rail say a collapsed water tunnel near Howden which led to the closure of the A614 will be rebuilt in around five weeks.

    The cause of the collapse is still under investigation.
