    Dong Energy has stressed they want to give local people  jobs in the offshore wind farm industry.

    A recruitment event's been held in Grimsby today for staff to work on the Hornsea Project One which will be the world's largest offshore wind farm and will provide a million UK homes with renewable energy by 2020.

    Four members of a gang - two from Goole - who groomed and abused girls in Rotherham have launched appeals against their convictions.

    Three brothers - Arshid, Basharat and Bannaras Hussain along with their uncle Qurban Ali and Karen MacGregor were jailed in February.

    It's been confirmed by the Judicial Office that all four have submitted applications for permission to appeal against their convictions and length of sentences.

  8. Brigg footbridge to be used by Wensleydale Railwaypublished at 16:43 British Summer Time 25 April 2016

    The Wensleydale Railway in North Yorkshire has bought the old footbridge from Brigg station. 

    The heritage line says it will come in handy at Leeming Bar station where they are planning to build a second platform.

    Musician Steve Harley has raised more £20,000 for a music scholarship in memory of Hull-born guitarist Mick Ronson. 

    The 'Cockney Rebel' front man played a fundraising gig in the city and auctioned off one of his guitars and a private, living-room performance to the highest bidder.

  11. Train conductor 'threatened on Driffield to Hull service'published at 15:28 British Summer Time 25 April 2016

    The British Transport Police want to trace the man (pictured) after a train conductor was abused and threatened on a train between Driffield and Hull. 

    The incident took place on Saturday, 2 April on board the 11.57am service but the transport police have now released a CCTV image of the person they want to speak to about the attack.

    Hull City Council have unveiled a plaque in honour of Mick Ronson at Hull City Hall.

    He achieved success working with David Bowie as one of the Spiders from Mars.

    However the entertainer died in a London hotel on 12 April.

    People at Hull City Hall are still hoping to put on the event in some form.

    Mr. Oliver is unhappy at Hull City's new membership scheme.

    The club's getting rid of season tickets which means some people will have to pay more to sit in their usual seats.

    Plans to put a park and ride scheme into the northern edge of Hull are back on. 

    Hull City Council has put £1m aside for the project which could see a new park and ride facility built close to Dunswell Roundabout.

    The council say they're also looking at three or four temporary park and ride sites for Hull's year as City of Culture in 2017.

    Hull City Council say they're clearing around 500 tonnes of illegally dumped waste each year and dealing with 500 incidents of fly-tipping a month.

    Today they'll discuss whether to spend £60,000 in an effort to clean up our streets.
