    A collection of vintage tractors has sold for £170,000.  

    Several of the machines were made by Marshall Sons & Co Ltd, a now defunct Lincolnshire manufacturer described as "an iconic British brand" by auctioneer Cheffins.  

    The 11 Marshall tractors had belonged to Ian Allerton, a Driffield farrier and collector who died in 2015.

  3. Tour de Yorkshire boosts economy by £60mpublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 27 June 2016

    The 2016 Tour de Yorkshire boosted the region's economy by nearly £60m, a study has found.

    Welcome to Yorkshire said two million people lined the route of the 521km cycle race, between 29 April and 1 May.

    Beverley, Settle, Otley, Doncaster, Middlesbrough and Scarborough all hosted starts or finishes.

    More than 50 huge model moths are being put up all in Hull and around the country as part of a celebration of aviator Amy Johnson. 

    The event marks 75 years since her death and will also include the first British exhibition of the models of Leonardo da Vinci's flying machines. 

    I don't know which took longer, Amy Johnsons flight to Australia or getting this moth on the wall!

    The cordon around a paddling pool on Marine Drive in Hornsea has now been lifted. 

  7. Nightclub arsonist given six year sentencepublished at 16:22 British Summer Time 27 June 2016

    A man from Hull has been given prison sentences totalling six years after setting fire to a nightclub in Hull in February. 

    Hundreds of people were partying at the Valbon when Scott Jackson, 24, of Delius Close, west Hull, deliberately started the fire. No one was injured. 

    Five years of Jackson's sentence is for arson, the rest is a suspended sentence which was activated by the judge.

    •  A cordon has been put in place around a children's paddling pool on Hornsea seafront after an incident involving chemicals
    • Its been revealed the Tour de Yorkshire helped bring in an additional £60m to the local economy

    Humberside Fire have issued a warning to avoid the area around a paddling pool on Marine Drive in Hornsea after an incident involving chemicals. 

    The quality of the water is now being examined and a 25m cordon is in place. 

    One person has been taken for treatment as a precaution.

    He says the leaders office was "working against the rest of the party".

    East Yorkshire's Kyle Edmund has been knocked out of the first round of Wimbledon in straight sets.

    Edmund went down 6-2 7-5 6-4 to frenchman Adrian Mannarino.

    Four shopfitters accused of taking part in the mock crucifixion of a teenage Catholic apprentice have been cleared of faith crimes by a jury.

    Andrew Addison, 30, Joseph Rose, 21, Christopher Jackson, 22, and Alex Puchir, 37, were found not guilty of religiously aggravated assault after it was alleged the men had tied the teenager to a wooden cross and suspended it above the ground. 

    Rose, from Bubwith, East Yorkshire, was convicted of putting a person in fear of violence by harassment.  

    Addison, from Selby, was cleared of putting a person in fear of violence by harassment but found guilty of assault by beating.

    They will be sentenced next month..

    Decorated moths are being put up in key locations to celebrate the life of the city born aviator. 

    Why Moth? Well, of course, she was the first woman to fly solo to Australia in the Gipsy Moth aircraft.

    It's one of Hull's greatest tragedies.

    The Gaul was a deep sea factory ship that disappeared in stormy seas 80 miles off Norway. All 36 crew members were lost. 

    Hull Truck Theatre announced this morning they are producing the new play by Hull-born writer Janet Plater later this year.

    Armed Forces Day in Cleethorpes attracted people from far and wide. 

    The weekend was certainly a busy one for our region's hotels with the majority of places fully booked.

    I spoke to Graham Malster who owns the Jedburgh Guest House in Cleethorpes, have a listen to hear just how busy it was for him over the weekend.
