    There are concerns people in an East Yorkshire village will miss out on a mobile breast screening service because of a recent merger of doctors surgeries. 

    One Radio Humberside listener called to say they have a routine screening every three years in Holme on Spalding Moor but this year they won't. 

    Dr Phil Kirby from NHS England says nobody will miss out.

    Hull FC have confirmed Huddersfield half-back Jake Connor has signed a contract to join them from 1 December.

    Reports had suggested Connor was considering a new contract with Giants, external after they offered improved terms.

    Connor agreed to join Hull FC in June, but was waiting after his 22nd birthday in October to complete the move.

    Martin Green, the Chief Executive for Hull City of Culture, has spokens to medical professionals about the benefits the arts can bring to an area. 

    A health expo is being held at the KCOM stadium to highlight the work the NHS does in Hull and East Yorkshire.

    A missing man from Harrogate has been found along the East Yorkshire Coast. 

    Concerns were raised for Paul Whing after his car was found at Flamborough Head yesterday and he didn't return home from work as expected.

    Tina Trowhill's son William was stillborn in 1994. His ashes were scattered without her permission.

    She has welcomed today's announcement that the government are introducing measures to prevent that happening in the future, but still wants a local inquiry in order to find out what went wrong.

  15. Overseas tourism worth £500,000 to Hull in past yearpublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 7 July 2016

    Overseas visitors to Hull brought in over £500,000 to the local economy last year, according to Hull City Council. There were a reported 1,682 direct visitors to Hull generating £542,000 between April 2015 to March 2016. 

    Figures also show visitors stayed for an average of 2.5 nights enjoying the retail offer, free museums and galleries and historical sites.

  16. Hull School responds to being put in Special Measures by Ofstedpublished at 13:42 British Summer Time 7 July 2016

    The Archbishop Sentamu Academy has issued a statement following the news that it's been placed in special measures.

    They say:

    • During our inspection, the Ofsted team found many strengths.  
    • The team however were concerned about weaknesses in achievement in maths and science.
    •  Under the Ofsted schedule, any weakness in a core subject can lead to an overall judgement of “inadequate”, even if there are many other strengths.
    • We were already aware of the weaknesses highlighted by inspectors, and have indeed been working hard all year to bring about improvements.

  17. Baby ashes scandal: Government to introduce changespublished at 13:28 British Summer Time 7 July 2016

    The government is to introduce a new statutory definition of 'ashes' to prevent future cases of infant remains not being returned to parents following a cremation.

    The Institute of Cemetery and Cremation Management has told the BBC that one of the fundamental problems with the baby ashes scandal in England has been confusion in the industry between what are ashes and what are remains.

    Tina Trowhill's son William, who was stillborn in 1994, were scattered in Hull Crematorium without her permission.

  18. Man sought after robbery in Hullpublished at 13:12 British Summer Time 7 July 2016

    Detectives have released a CCTV still of a man they would like to speak to following an alleged robbery at a convenience store on Spring Bank West, Hull at 15:49 on Monday 20 June.

    The thief entered the store and after a short period he ran up to the till while it was open and grabbed money before running off.

    It's believed he left the area on a maroon motorbike with L plates which had been parked at the side of the store.

    Police believe the man pictured may have information about the crime.
