    Three doctors surgeries in Beverley are to be combined.

    NHS England has approved the merger of Greenwood Avenue, Minstergate and Walkergate surgeries to become the Greengates Medical Group. 

    It's hoped it will improve GP access for their 10,000 patients.

    East Riding of Yorkshire councillor Linda Bayram says a bigger surgery doesn't mean you'll get to see your doctor.

    The Archbishop Sentamu Academy has confirmed they're to be placed into special measures following an Ofsted inspection.

    The school became an academy in 2008.

    Officers investigating the theft of perfumes valued at £541 from Debenhams, Beverley, want to identify two men.

    One is white, slim build, with short mousey hair and aged 27 to 33-years-old.

    The second is also white, of slim build and around 5ft 6in tall.

    The incident happened around 16:50 on Saturday 2 July

    Health bosses want to showcase the work of the NHS in Hull and the East Riding at a major exhibition.

    Staff from trusts across the region are putting on the event at the KCom stadium. 

    It's hoped it will encourage more people to consider a career in health care and let people know what goes on in the NHS.

  9. Unauthorised absence fine cases increase across East Yorkshirepublished at 09:59 British Summer Time 7 July 2016

    Fines for unauthorised school absences in the East Riding have dramatically risen. 

    The area was among the top 10 in the country for issuing penalty notices in 2015. 

    It's emerged that 2,714 fines were issued by the council totalling £162,840 - £15,900 more than the previous academic year.

    A 'nude sea of humanity' will cover the streets of Hull this weekend. 

    Internationally renowned artist Spencer Tunick is photographing participants who'll be painted blue in the city as part of a specially commissioned piece for next year's City of Culture celebrations. 

    The artist is in Hull preparing for the event and says he has a clear vision for the Sea of Hull

    Fire crews in Hull have dealt with a fire this morning in a commercial building on Scotney Lane near Crown Paints. 

    Three fire engines went to the scene around 07.20. 

    No-one was in the building at the time

    The bereaved parents of a 12-year-old girl from East Yorkshire will meet with the Education Secretary Nicky Morgan.

    French police are still investigating how Jessica Lawson from Kirkella died on the trip to an activity centre in France a year ago. 

    Jessica's parents say they want to make sure other families don't have the same struggle for information.
