    Kyle Edmund has been beaten in the second round of the Shanghai Masters as he slipped to a 6-3 6-4 defeat against world number three Stan Wawrinka.

    Edmund, 21, reached the quarter-finals of the China Open last week before losing to Andy Murray and has moved up to a career-best of 48th in the world rankings this week.

    Former Hull City boss Steve Bruce is set to be named as the new manager of Aston Villa.

    Bruce left the Tigers in the summer after guiding them to promotion to the Premier League last season.

    He is expected to take over at Villa, who sacked Roberto di Matteo last week.

  7. Teenagers taken to hospital after eating cookiespublished at 10:26 British Summer Time 12 October 2016

    Three children were taken to hospital for treatment after they ate cookies given to them by a woman on Freeman Street, Grimsby at the weekend.

    Two girls aged 13 and 15 and a 13-year-old boy were later discharged. 

    Investigations into the incident are continuing and a 60-year-old woman was arrested and questioned. 

    She's since been released on bail.

    One lane is closed and queuing traffic for 5 miles westbound between the A1034 junction in South Cave and North Cave. 

    It's due to a multi-vehicle accident and an oil spillage, congestion now back to Welton Road junction.

    'Treasured City', external is a new artwork by Luke Jerram. He's been commissioned to leave five artefacts cast in £1,000 gold hidden around Scunthorpe.

    20-21 Visual Arts Centre, external is behind the project, they hope that it will encourage people to explore the rich local heritage and environment around the town. 

    The clues will be in five paintings which will be part of an exhibition in February 2017. 

    But it really is finders keepers! 

    Artist Luke Jerram told the breakfast show a little more about it.

  11. American faces life in prison for sending Cyanide to Hull manpublished at 09:33 British Summer Time 12 October 2016

    An American man has been convicted of posting cyanide to a suicidal man in Hull, leading to his death.

    Sidney Kilmartin, 54, (pictured) posted a substance he said was cyanide but which was actually Epsom salts to several suicidal people, police said.

    But he sent the real thing to Andrew Denton, 49, of Hull, who used it to kill himself in December 2012

    Prosecutors said Kilmartin wanted to stop Mr Denton reporting the fraud.

    A federal jury found him guilty on Tuesday of mailing injurious articles resulting in death and witness tampering.

    The Clinical Commissioning Group has been reviewing the future of East Yorkshire's Minor Injuries Units.

    A consultation is likely to begin before the end of the month, they want to replace the area's five current units with two or three Urgent Care Centres. 

    Some campaigners strongly oppose this idea.

    Alex Seal from the Clinical Commissioning Group explained the proposals.

    Over the last 24 hours Humberside Police have received a number of reports of people dressed as clowns around the East Riding and Hull.

    Recently there's been an increase of people dressing up and jumping out of bushes to scare people. 

    Humberside Police say the majority of reported sightings have not involved intimidating or threatening behaviour.
