    A woman was threatened with a hammer after she tried to take pictures at a traffic collision in Grimsby.

    The 36-year-old was a passenger in a Ford Focus C Max which collided with a silver Audi A5 in Freeman Street on 31 October.

    Police say the man driving the Audi tried to take the woman's phone away as she photographed the damage and threatened her when she refused to hand it over.

    The man then threatened the 61-year-old male driver of the Ford. Anyone who saw what happened should call police on 101.

    Police want to identify this man in connection with an assault in Cleethorpes.

    A youth reported being headbutted by a man he had previously had a verbal exchange with outside McDonald's on Grimsby Road in the resort on 25 October.

    Police are appealing for help to trace the next-of-kin of a Hull man who died yesterday.

    Paul Robert Johnson, aged 52, of Salthouse Lane is believed to have a brother and a sister, but they have yet to be traced.

    A chemical company has been fined £3m after one of its workers was killed in an explosion at its North East Lincolnshire plant.

    Ferensway in Hull will be closed to traffic for three days later this month because of roadworks. 

    The closure will take place from Sunday 27 November to Tuesday 29 November. 

    Buses and Taxis will have limited access.

  15. Chemical firm fined £3m for 'utter disgrace'published at 15:09 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2016

    Chemical company Cristal has been fined £3m for three criminal breaches of health and safety regulations. 

    Paul Doyley, 48, from Immingham died in an explosion in 2010 at the Stallingborough plant. 

    He was exposed to toxic fumes and liquid. 

    Judge Jeremy Richardson QC said a "very serious dereliction of duty" by the company exposed employees and members of the public to "the danger of chemical poisoning". 

    He described what happened as an "utter disgrace".

    He said "this is a comprehensible shameful episode in the history of the company".
