A man arrested in connection with a crash in which three teenagers were seriously injured has been released on bail.

An 18-year-old man and two boys, aged 16, and 17, were taken to hospital after the collision in Little Coates Road, Grimsby, at about 01:30 BST on Thursday.

Humberside Police said the three teenagers were riding on a suspected stolen motorbike without helmets when it collided with a red Vauxhall Corsa.

A 22-year-old man arrested on suspicion of seven offences, including dangerous driving and failing to stop, has been released on bail.

The force said all three teenagers remain in hospital and has issued an appeal for any witnesses to come forward.

Stanley Metcalf died after being hit by an air gun pellet at Sproatley, near Hull, last July.

Writing on Twitter, Humberside Police's special operations chief inspector for firearms and marine policing James Glanfield said "such tragic events highlight the danger of any firearms".

He said: "You can surrender any air weapons at our police stations and I would strongly recommend doing so to avoid this happening again to another family."

His comments come on the eve of a fortnight-long national gun amnesty with police forces across the country urging people to hand in their unwanted guns and items of ammunition.

GP practices in Hull are currently facing severe IT problems with being patients asked to call ahead of appointments to check they're still going ahead.

The technical problems mean practices aren’t able to access their clinical system, meaning appointments can’t be booked and prescriptions can't be ordered.

However, patients with a nominated pharmacy may be able to order prescriptions through them.

Members of the public without appointments today are asking to avoid making any non-urgent calls.

NHS Hull Clinical Commissioning Group says it will provide more information as they get it.

The mother of a six-year-old boy who died after being shot with an unlicensed air rifle by his great-grandfather has called on the government to change the law around air-powered weapons.

Now Stanley's mum, Jenny Dees, says she wants to see the law changed in England to make it illegal to own an air rifle without a licence, as it is in other parts of the UK.

"I want them to go ahead with Scotland and Wales and have the same licencing laws put in place - so that's all weapons need a licence", she said.

"It'd be an offence to own one, and to use one without that licence. But not just that - I want the education around it too."

A petition for a change in the law has attracted more than 9,000 signatures.

The garden was partly designed by his friends at St Mary’s Queen of Matyrs.

Albert Grannon, 78, of Church Lane, Sproatley, was jailed for three years at Sheffield Crown Court after admitting manslaughter and possessing an air rifle without holding a firearms certificate.

It happened on Little Coates Road at the junction of Broadway around 01:30 when a black Honda CBR collided with a red Vauxhall Corsa.

An 18-year-old man sustained 'life changing' injuries including a broken neck, leg, arm and internal injuries.

A 17-year-old and a 16-year-old boy were also taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Humberside Police say all three were on the bike at the time, none of them were wearing helmets and they are currently under investigation for an alleged burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and dangerous driving.

It's believed the incident followed an altercation shortly before the collision and the 22-year-old driver of the car has been arrested on suspicion of three counts of GBH, three counts of dangerous driving, and one count of failing to stop.
