    A £7.1m appeal has been launched to buy hundreds of historic and personal objects which belonged to Sir Winston Churchill at his country home.

    The National Trust is looking to acquire for the nation hundreds of heirlooms that have been on long-term loan at Grade-I listed Chartwell, near Sevenoaks.

    There's a planned road blockade around Calais today to protest about the French port's migrant camp in a move set to disrupt travellers.

    Lorry drivers and farmers also plan to form a "human chain" in protest against the French government's failure to close the camp, known as the 'Jungle'.
