It's arguably the ultimate selfie of 2016: South East MEP Nigel Farage with President-Elect Donald Trump standing by a golden lift.

But Nigel Farage’s attempts to get 'hired' as an informal go-between for the UK government and the former Apprentice star and have caused a media storm.

If this were the reality show, Mr Farage would already be in the taxi home; Theresa May has said a very firm 'no'.

    So what next?

Mr Farage is due to step down soon as Interim UKIP Leader but he has previously said he will serve out his final term as a South East MEP, which would take him to 2019.

Could this weekend's events suggest that, as with Brexit, he's looking to his find his future beyond Europe's borders though?

  7. GP pressurespublished at 17:44 Greenwich Mean Time 15 November 2016

    Mark Norman
    Health Correspondent, BBC South East

Twenty-four GP practices across Kent and Sussex closed their doors since 2013, that's roughly one every 10 weeks.

Pressures on GPs are so great they feel they are failing patients and potentially providing unsafe care.

Here are some of the figures I've found as part of my exclusive investigation.

  8. Plans to overhaul GP services to be unveiledpublished at 16:43 Greenwich Mean Time 15 November 2016

    Jessica Lloyd
    BBC Live reporter

NHS plans are about to be published that could overhaul services in Kent and Sussex.

Those plans might consider radical changes to some hospital services but better organised GP and primary care services will also be included.

It comes as GPs say they are under enormous pressure with a GP practise closing its doors in Kent and Sussex every ten weeks.

Patients will get the opportunity to have their say when those NHS plans are published in the next few days.

Kent say the successful candidate will 'create an environment in which the Captain, the players, all members of the Cricket Management Team and support staff are able to deliver to their full potential thereby optimising the short and long term playing performance objectives of Kent Cricket.'

Police say Henderson's face was partially covered when he entered the store in August, he then grabbed a bag containing money from one member of staff before he pulled out a knife and demanded cash from another employee.

Herne Bay Over 50s walking football team have won a landmark treble after adding the British title to their English and European crowns. Bay beat Scottish champions Montrose 3-0 in the final.

And here's a fun fact, the goalkeeper Nick Denly is the father of Kent cricketer Joe Denly and Bay first team boss Sam Denly. The Kent team won all four of their matches, and didn't concede a single goal.

  15. Lower Thames Crossing: 'More M25 misery' if option agreedpublished at 12:05 Greenwich Mean Time 15 November 2016

A new Lower Thames crossing east of Gravesend to relieve pressure at the Dartford Crossing would lead to 30 more years of M25 misery, an MP has warned.

The Conservative MP for Gravesham, Adam Holloway, told the Commons the government should instead build a tunnel to bypass traffic under Dartford and Thurrock.

Highways England has said a tunnel connecting Tilbury to Gravesend is its preferred route for the crossing.

Protests have been held over the options

Dartford MP Gareth Johnson agreed it was the best way to reduce congestion.

Speaking during a parliamentary debate on Monday night, the Conservative MP said it did not make sense to create another crossing in his constituency.

"Isn't it the situation that we should have more resilience, as we have across the rest of the Thames, so you have crossings at various different locations?

"The solution surely is to take traffic away and put the crossing east of Gravesend," he said.
