    We've been finding out how your donations to the BBC Children in Need appeal improve the lives of disadvantaged young people.

    There are 1,835 projects supported by the charity in England and the Channel Islands alone, with the money directly benefitting a huge range of youngsters.

    Partially paralysed Luisa Pearce has completed a record-breaking attempt to cross the Sahara Desert, using a wheelchair and crutches.

    Luisa, who is from Staplehurst, was raising money for the charity she founded, Freedom for Wheels.

    That's some Tuesday inspiration for us all.

    South East MEP Mr Farage said: "He (Mr Trump) feels a strong association with this country."

    Speaking about this picture he said: "That was inside Mr Trump's apartment. We had a conversation about lots of things."

    He said that Mr Trump's advisors have told him that "if any country should be at the front of the queue it should be the UK."

  6. Prison officers halt work over safety fears, union sayspublished at 08:20 Greenwich Mean Time 15 November 2016

    Prison officers at all seven jails in Kent have halted work as part of a national protest after talks with the government broke down. 

    Staff are not allowed to go on strike but are holding meetings outside prisons.

    The protest began at midnight and comes after multiple high profile incidents at prisons across England, including an alleged murder, a riot and two inmates escaping.

    The Ministry of Justice described the action as unjustified and "unlawful".

    That's what pupils at a Maidstone school are already doing - and the school says it's improved their concentration in the classroom.

    This week, Medway Council has urged local schools to sign up to a 'school mile' initiative.

    GPs across Kent, Sussex and Medway are taking on more patients than the national average.

    In the last two years in the South East, a doctor's surgery has closed every eight weeks. An NHS report is also raising concerns about future recruitment with more than a third of GPs in some areas now over the age of 55. 

    Kent GP Julian Spinks says something needs to be done.

    After less than six months in the job, Charlton Athletic have parted company with boss Russell Slade

    The 56-year-old's departure follows a 3-0 defeat at Swindon on Saturday in only his 16th league game in charge.

    Slade is the sixth manager to leave the Addicks since January 2014, although Jose Riga had two spells as boss.
