    Kent Police is supporting the Sexual Abuse and Sexual Violence Awareness Week that takes place from 6 to 12 February.

    The week highlights the issues around understanding consent and the importance and encouragement of reporting assaults.

    In 2016 Kent Police’s public protection unit received 1,584 reports of rape, and a further 2,667 sexual offences.

    Just three months after the Calais migrant camp known as the Jungle was demolished, aid workers claim up to 500 migrants have returned to northern France - and they're making nightly attempts to smuggle themselves across the Channel into Kent.

    Dover MP Charlie Elphicke asked the Prime Minister what's being done to stop another refugee camp springing up on the French coast.

    More than half of children in Kent aged 11 to 18 have had nasty or negative comments posted about them online.

    That's according to research which was carried out by Salus, an organisation which works with schools.

    Staff are also worried about the emergence of new apps which they believe are being used inappropriately by some children.
