Labour is set to oppose an historic bill later which will decide whether to repeal the 1972 European Communities Act, which took Britain into the EU.
Ahead of the debate, Rosie Duffield, the Labour MP for Canterbury, told the BBC that her party would be voting against the EU Withdrawal Bill.
Quote MessageVoting for the bill would give the government sweeping powers to do whatever they like, when they like, to change whatever laws they want to and to do it without proper consultation."
Quote MessageHuge changes should be talked through or debated or put to the public and they’re not proposing to do anything like that."
When asked whether she thought voting against the legislation would lead to a chaotic Brexit, Duffield said she disagreed.
Quote MessageWe just want it all done properly and we want them to be accountable. We want to know what’s going on. We’re not voting against Brexit, we had the referendum, we’re just voting about, you know, against the way that they want to do things."
Quote MessageIf we have to have a Brexit, let’s make it as soft a Brexit as possible."

Seven out of eight of Folkestone's GP practices have asked to be allowed to refuse to take on any new patients.
They've asked the South Kent Coast Clinical Commissioning Group for permission to close their lists because of a shortage of doctors.
The practices say, with 16 unfilled GP posts in the town, it would be unsafe for their existing patients if they were to accept new ones.
The situation's been exasperated, they say, by the CCG's decision this month to reallocate patients from the former Folkestone East Family Practice contract, which covered 4,600 people.
The surgeries affected are Central Surgery, Guildhall St Surgery, Hawkinge & Elham Surgery, Manor Clinic, The New Surgery, Park Farm Surgery and Sandgate Road Surgery.
Quote MessageThe practices have advised the CCG throughout that we are unable to take on more patients safely without long-term investment in clinical staff as well as infrastructure to ensure the safe integration of these patients without jeopardising patient care for all residents of Folkestone.'

Dover's new £26m leisure centre has been given the go-ahead.
The district council's cabinet has approved the plan for the building on a two hectare site in Whitfield.
It'll feature an eight-lane swimming pool, a four-court sports hall, a gym with 120 stations, squash courts, a climbing wall and a cafe.
Dover's new sports centre will be built in Whitfield
It'll replace the town's existing sports centre in Townwall Street, which is 40 years old.
Sport England is donating £1.5m to the project from the National Lottery, with the new centre ready to take over from its predecessor in 2019.
It will replace the 40-year-old facility in the town centre
Quote MessageThis is a major investment in the health and well-being of the district. We are grateful for the support of Sport England in developing these exciting proposals, and would like to thank the many stakeholders, local sports clubs and individuals who have contributed ideas.'

Craig Mackinlay, the Conservative MP for South Thanet, has backed the EU Withdrawal Bill, legislation which will mean European law will stop taking precedence over laws passed in the British Parliament.
It will also incorporate all current EU regulations into UK law, including the Common Fisheries Policy, which Mr Mackinlay says he does not want the UK to continue.
Quote MessageWhat I would like to see is the proposed fisheries bill which is due before us at some time. This could solve the problem. We have no idea at this time what the fisheries bill will contain. Will it continue to give away the nation’s wealth, that is its fish?"
Quote MessageFishing is the area in which the British people demand and I think they will not accept anything but a clean Brexit."

A Dartford firm has been fined £85,000 for making hundreds of illegal nuisance calls.
True Telecom Limited called people who'd specifically asked not to be contacted and had registered their numbers on the Telephone Preference Service.
The company received a warning from the Information Commissioner's Office in 2015, but despite this there were 201 complaints between April that year and April 2017.
The Commissioner's Office says people who received calls were led to believe they were from British Telecom.
Quote MessageThere's no excuse for making marketing calls to people who have explicitly asked not to receive them. These calls are at best annoying and at worst downright distressing, and companies who pester the pubic in this way must understand they won't get away with it."
Steve Eckersley, Head of enforcement, Information Commissioner's Office
True Telecom is blaming a "system error" which, it says, allowed the calls to "slip through the net".
It says it has invested in new systems to prevent this happening again.
The company also says it feels the level of the fine is excessive, when compared to punishments handed out for similar breaches of the law.
Quote Messagein comparison to other cases of this nature, we feel the fine stated is somewhat disproportionate when considering other companies have been fined a lesser amount for over 100,000 individual cases.'
Spokesman, True Telecom Limited

Read MoreA mother-of-four from Kent and her former partner have been jailed for trying to smuggle 12 Vietnamese migrants into the UK through the Channel Tunnel.
Katy Bethel, who's 28 and from Gillingham, was given a sentence of two years and nine months.
Aaron Harris was given a five-year sentence.
The migrants - four men, five women and three children - were found in the back of a van-load of tyres in July 2015.
A Border Force officer in Coquelles spotted a leg sticking out of one of the tyres.
Katy Bethel - who was heavily pregnant at the time - was a passenger in the vehicle driven by Aaron Harris.
When he was arrested, he said: "This is the day trip from hell. I'm usually a lorry driver, not a criminal."
Harris pleaded guilty to assisting unlawful immigration. Katy Bethel had claimed she had no idea the migrants were in the van. She said she and her then partner had gone on a day trip, looking for a beach, but had got lost and left the van by the roadside as they went for a walk.
