    Quote Message

When I campaigned for Aung San Suu Kyi to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, it was on the basis of her peaceful struggle for democracy and human rights for all. Now, having achieved her own freedom from imprisonment, and accepted all the plaudits and glittering prizes of recognition, she cruelly denies said freedoms to her own people.'

The Pavilion opened in 1902 and was mostly used as a theatre until 1984, and a pub and entertainment venue until its closure in 2007.

It's now owned by developers who were granted planning permission in 2015 to build 68 flats to both sides of the existing site..
