    Temperatures could reach highs of about 12C (54F). 

  2. Watch: Battery recycling fire at Elland business parkpublished at 13:40

    A fire at a business park in Elland near Halifax, external, which at its height was being tackled by about 50 firefighters, is now under control, the fire service says.

    The fire, at North Dean Business Park on Stainland Road, involved batteries which were in the process of being recycled.

    Rebecca Dent has sent us this video which clearly shows many small explosions taking place on the site as a result of the fire.

    Join us on BBC One at 18:30 for Look North as we take a closer look at the West Yorkshire hospital trust which has been judged "inadequate" for patient safety. 

    Government health watchdog inspectors went into Pinderfields Hospital, Pontefract General Infirmary and Dewsbury District Hospital.

    Overall they found the hospitals required improvement - and safety is said to be a particular concern.

  6. Funeral under way for Leeds transgender prisonerpublished at 12:30

    I'm at the funeral in Keighley for Vikki Thompson, the Leeds transgender prisoner who died while in Armley Jail.

    Vikki, 21, died at the all-male jail on 13 November. She had said she would kill herself if sent to a male prison.

    Drivers are being warned to expect delays and disruption just outside Halifax owing to a fire in the Copley Lane/Wakefield Road area.

  8. Firefighters tackle big blaze in Halifaxpublished at 12:12

    Over 50 firefighters are tackling a big blaze on an industrial estate in Halifax, external

    The fire has broken out at a commercial building on the North Dean business park in Elland.

    BBC Radio Leeds has heard unconfirmed reports of explosions being heard in the area.

    The fire broke out about 10:30 this morning, and crews from all over West Yorkshire are at the scene. Nobody is believed to be injured.

  9. Two taken to hospital after Bradford flat firepublished at 11:59

    Two women and a teenage girl have been treated by paramedics after suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke during a flat fire in Bradford, external.

    The blaze started in a bedroom in the fourth floor flat in Underwood House (pictured), in the North Wing area of Bradford, at about 04:00 this morning.

    Firefighters from Bradford, Idle, Odsal and Leeds tackled the fire.

    Two of the females were later taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

  14. West Yorkshire hospitals trust 'requires improvement'published at 10:42

    Safety at hospitals run by the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS trust has been rated "inadequate", and overall the trust "requires improvement", according to a health watchdog report, external.

    Serious concerns over nurse staffing shortages at the trust, which runs hospitals in Dewsbury, Wakefield, and Pontefract, are highlighted in a recent report by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

    Some improvement has been made in the last 12 months, but more needs to be done, according to the CQC.

  19. New route announced for Leeds Bradford airportpublished at 09:44

    A new route from Leeds Bradford Airport to Newquay will be launched next year, the Department for Transport has confirmed, external.

    Flights between Leeds Bradford and Newquay are set to begin in Spring 2016 and are part of a plan, announced by George Osborne in last week's Spending Review, external, to offer faster journey times within the UK.

    The airport is one of 11 successful bidders to be awarded £7m of support from the Regional Air Connectivity Fund.
