Tomorrow, we're in for a cloudy start with outbreaks of rain gradually clearing east. Sunny spells developing but by the afternoon showers too. Feeling fresher with a light breeze and a maximum temperature of 9C (48F)

Colin Butterwick Square has been named after a long-time worker at the pit who is to attend the unveiling ceremony.

Here's a nice tale for a Friday. Two 80-year-olds from two very different parts of the world who have been pen pals for 70 years have been talking about their relationship.
John Milne lives in Horsforth with his wife Heather. He started writing to Mary Renner from New Zealand in the 1940s. They're still in touch - and even better Mary's here in Leeds.

Leeds West Labour MP Rachel Reeves, says she's very uncomfortable with what's emerging from David Cameron's tax affairs.
Nationally, her party has called for David Cameron to make a full statement to the Commons about his family's tax affairs.
It comes after he conceded that he'd owned shares in an offshore fund set up by his father. The PM said he sold the shares in 2010 and had paid all the relevant UK taxes.
A 94-year-old woman from Bradford has suffered a fractured shoulder after the taxi she was getting in was stolen.
West Yorkshire Police say, external the taxi driver was helping her get into the black VW Passat when a man jumped in and drove away.
The injured woman is in a stable condition in hospital today following the incident in the Asda car park in Rooley Lane at around 15:00 yesterday.

This morning I've been telling you about the poster that's gone up in Halifax and Wakefield which shows an injured sheep, alongside the slogan "I don't belong on your plate or in your wardrobe... choose vegan."
They've been put up by PETA, the animal welfare charity. There have been questions over where the picture was taken and if the charity are alleging that British farmers are mistreating their stock.

There's a lot of excitement at the office this morning. Hypnodog, from Guiseley, is in the building to preview the new series of Britain's Got Talent.
You'll remember the Paul McKenna of the canine world was a big hit on the programme last year.
