  5. Man visiting Leeds goes missing after leaving for Swedenpublished at 17:20 British Summer Time 24 August 2016

    Police say they are growing increasingly concerned for a Polish man who was visitng Leeds and left to work in Sweden but never arrived.

    Janusz Cieszynski, aged 44, was staying in Seacroft to visit friends, but has been missing since 8 August, when he was due to leave the country to work.

  8. Travel update: Inner ring road due to reopen shortlypublished at 16:35 British Summer Time 24 August 2016

    I've just spoken to West Yorkshire Police about the incident on Leeds' Inner Ring Road.

    They say that a man has been arrested after he was seen walking near one of the bridges over the A58(M).

    The road has reopened and traffic should be returning to normal soon.

    Huddersfield Town keeper Danny Ward has been selected in the Wales squad for their qualifier against Moldova in Cardiff on 5 September. 

    The 23-year-old has three caps to his name, and made his first start for Wales at Euro 2016.

  16. Man robbed at knifepoint in Huddersfieldpublished at 13:44 British Summer Time 24 August 2016

    A man was robbed at knifepoint in Huddersfield last night.

    It happened on Queens Mill Road in Newsome just after 23:20 as a man was walking along the road. He was approached by two men, one of whom grabbed him from behind and pulled him over, the other demanded money from the victim and took his mobile phone. 

    If you saw anything, please call the police on 101.

  17. Dog walkers warned over keeping pets on leadspublished at 13:30 British Summer Time 24 August 2016

    Dog walkers are being urged to keep their dogs on a lead while walking near livestock in the countryside.

    One farmer on Ilkley Moor has suffered as many as eight attacks on his sheep this year alone. Bradford council is warning that even if a sheep is not physically harmed, the stress induced by a chase can lead to serious health problems.

    They also warn that farmers and landowners are at liberty to shoot loose dogs among their livestock.
