    A Bradford man has criticised, external Incommunities for “not doing enough” after his home was hit by an infestation of cockroaches.

    Allan Illingworth, of Foxwood House, off Parsonage Road, Laisterdyke, said he and his wife have seen their home invaded by the insects for the past two month.

    Three of Kirklees' museums are to be closed as a result of council cost-cutting. 

    Senior decision makers have in the last hour passed a proposal to shut Dewsbury Museum in Crow Nest Park, Tolson Museum in Huddersfield and the Red House in Gomersal. 

    Ahead of today's meeting, Councillor Graham Turner told BBC Radio Leeds they'd tried to find an alternative way of addressing their budget shortfall.

    It's hoped systems used to process blood test results in Leeds will be up and running again by the middle of this week. 

    A computer failure has led to more than a 130 operations at hospitals - including the LGI and St James's - being postponed.

    Archaeologists have been unlocking secrets after exhuming more than 200 skeletons at a site in Calderdale.

    Excavations in the Square Chapel graveyard led to fascinating findings about local residents from 200 years ago.

    The skeletons have all been reinterred at Stoney Royd Cemetery, in Halifax.

  11. Man due in court charged with attempted murder of womanpublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 3 October 2016

    A man is due to appear, external in court today charged with the attempted murder of his partner.

    Police were called to an address on Jim Lane in Marsh at 6.30pm on Saturday following reports that a 28-year-old woman had sustained serious injuries.

  13. CCTV images released after Wakefield burglarypublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 3 October 2016

    CCTV images have been released of two men police would like to speak to in connection with a burglary, external in the city last week.

    The burglary took place on Wednesday 28 September on Spa Croft Road, Ossett, between 13:48 and 13:50.

    The suspects gained entry to the address and stole property including cash and an iPad.

  14. Ben Needham search: Farmhouse demolition planpublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 3 October 2016

    Police searching for missing Ben Needham from Yorkshire on the Greek island of Kos have asked for permission to demolish part of a farmhouse.

    The extension to the property was constructed after Ben disappeared in 1991, when he was 21-months-old. 

    Police say they're confident permission for the demolition will be given.

    Plenty of fine dry, weather with good spells of prolonged sunshine this afternoon. Feeling pleasant in the sunshine with highs of about 15C (59F).

    It'll be another dry night to come with plenty of clear spells.

    We are at risk of some isolated mist and fog patches forming, particularly further east and it will feel chilly but not as cold as last night with lows of about 11C (52F).

  16. Three men arrested after shots fired in Bradfordpublished at 13:19 British Summer Time 3 October 2016

    Three men have been arrested after two houses in Bradford were damaged by gunfire, external.

    Officers were called to an address in Grayswood Crescent (pictured) at about 06:55 on Friday morning after a window was smashed. They also found another broken window at a property on nearby Lymington Drive.

    The damage at both properties was caused by firearms discharges, it was later confirmed, and police say believe the two incidents are linked.

    Three men aged 27, 28 and 31 were arrested in connection with these incidents. The 27 and 28-year-old men have since been bailed.

    Huddersfield Town's match-winning defender Chris Schindler doesn't expect to miss Town's next match in a fortnight at home to Sheffield Wednesday.

    The player picked picked up a nasty cut to his eye after scoring the winner at Ipswich on Saturday. 

    However, Schindler says he'll take the knock in his stride and enjoy his moment.
