    Elly Fiorentini
    BBC Local Live, Yorkshire

British Transport Police have launched an investigation to find out whether thieves or vandals caused major disruption on train services between Selby and Hull this morning.

A signal failure led to services being suspended and replacement buses being brought in for passengers.

British Transport Police are investigating the incident

A spokesman for Network Rail said a trackside cable had been put on the line at Hessle East Junction and was damaged by a passing train.

This resulted in the signals not working.

It's still unclear if the cable was put on the line deliberately or thieves were trying to steal it.

Trains are running again, but it could be a while before services return to normal.

The force control room had received multiple calls regarding the fire and the nearest engine wasn't sent to the incident owing to an "error" when the calls were logged.

The coroner, Nicola Mundy described how Jack and his friend used a candle for light as they stripped paint from the mini motorbike using rags and petrol. The fuel was leaking on to the table, floor and carpet.

Recording a verdict of accidental death, Ms Mundy said Jack died after the inhalation of toxic fumes and the "rapid progression" of the fire.
