    Two men are being sought by British Transport Police after an incident on a train travelling between London Kings Cross and Leeds

    A group of men was travelling on the train at 22.40 on 23 April when one man verbally abused a Manchester City fan travelling in the same carriage.

    The man was then confronted by the group and a second man from the group pushed the victim in the chest. The group left the service at Doncaster.

    PC Saleh Ali says: "I am keen to speak to the two men in the CCTV images as they may have information which could help with the investigation.

    "I would also like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident."

    Sheffield's "Pram Man" has set off on a walk to mark his 50 years of fundraising.

    John Burkhill has raised thousands of pounds for Macmillian Cancer Support by pushing a pram through the city.

    Today, he is recreating his first ever charity walk which he did way back in 1967.

    A Conservative candidate in murdered MP Jo Cox's former constituency has been forced to apologise after joking about shooting at a hustings event.

    Mrs Cox, the Labour MP for Batley and Spen, was murdered outside her constituency office in Birstall, West Yorkshire, by Thomas Mair in June 2016.

    Answering a question about integration, Dr Ann Myatt said: "We've not yet shot anybody so that's wonderful."

    The M1 is about to re-open after a police incident near Barnsley.

    There have been queues of traffic around junction 37 after the road was shut in both directions.

    There'll be North Yorkshire interest in the Derby this weekend.

    Permian, pictured below being ridden by Franny Norton and trained by Mark Johnston at Middleham, is a late entry into the race after winning the Dante Stake at York earlier in the month.

    About 100,000 race-goers are set to attend the two-day Epsom Derby.

    The addition of Permian and last week's Goodwood winner, Khalidi, means the total purse for the Classic on 3 June will be £1.625m, making it the richest ever race staged in Britain.

    Full details of the open-top bus tour through Huddersfield to celebrate the Terriers' ascent to the Premier League have now been issued.

    A civic ceremony's due to be held in St. George's Square in Huddersfield from 18:20.

    But before the players get there, they'll take a tour of the town as David Wagner and the first team squad travel from the John Smith's Stadium.

    Police say they're "becoming increasingly concerned" for the 26-year-old as he hasn't been seen since Thursday 25 May.

    Officers think he could be in the Rochdale or Burnley area.

  8. Boy due in court after musician 'threatened' on social mediapublished at 12:28 British Summer Time 30 May 2017

    A teenager is due in court after threats were made on social media to an American singer who is due to perform in Sheffield.

    The 15-year-old was issued a summons after police were alerted about a number of tweets sent over the weekend.

    South Yorkshire Police said the youngster, from West Yorkshire, was due in court at a later date over an offence of malicious communications.

    Details of the performer have not been released for "safety" reasons.

    A Sheffield pensioner has had her engagement ring stolen during a knifepoint robbery.

    The woman, who's in her 70s, and her husband were in bed when two masked men threatened them with a knife.

    The robbery happened on Spa View Road in Hackenthorpe at 02:50 on Monday.

    The thieves got away with the woman's gold bracelet, engagement ring and her handbag.

    The men are described as white, slim and in their 20s, with one about 6ft 2ins tall and the other 5ft 10ins tall.

    Anyone with information is asked to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101.

  11. Computer craft needed to 'rebuild' York Minsterpublished at 11:56 British Summer Time 30 May 2017

    Young people are being invited to rebuild North Yorkshire's most iconic building using a computer game.

    Over the next three days, the best recreations of York Minster, using Minecraft, will be displayed on a big screen in the cathedral.

    As you can see below, some got in on the action early by sending in designs to a competition judged by John David, Master Mason at the Minster, and Lisa Power, head of learning:

    It's not the first time the building blocks game has been used to recreate bits of North Yorkshire.

    Earlier this year, the entire town of Scarborough was recreated inside the video game.

    We've got more details now on raids by armed police on two houses in Bradford yesterday.

    Police have issued a statement following the incident in which two firearms warrants were carried out in the Manningham area.

    They say armed police attended two addresses in Bradford at about 17:00 following a report of an incident where a man is alleged to have had a gun pointed at him.

    "Properties in Oak Lane and Devonshire Terrace were searched and a number of people were spoken to, but no arrests were made and no weapon was located.

    "While carrying out these searches police received a report of gunshots being heard in Marlborough Road at about 18:30.

    "Firearms officers attended and found a white Porsche Panamera vehicle in Carlisle Road with damage to the front passenger door.The vehicle was recovered for further forensic examination.

    "These incidents are believed to be linked and enquiries are continuing to locate the suspects involved."

    Huddersfield Town chairman Dean Hoyle says "dreams can come true" after the Terriers won a fairytale promotion to the Premier League.

    Town have returned to the top flight for the first time in 45 years after a penalty shoot-out win in the Championship play-off final against Reading yesterday.

    Hoyle says: "It just proves that you don't have to blow your brains to get promoted, you can do it the right way and we have done it.

    "When I took over in 2009 it has got harder and harder every year, we are competing with some real big boys.

    "But with an open mind it can be achieved, though I never thought it would be possible. It proves dreams can come true."

  16. 'Compromise can be reached' over Sprotbrough bio-fertiliser 'lagoon'published at 10:31 British Summer Time 30 May 2017

    The company behind a proposed bio-fertiliser "lagoon" in Sprotbrough, South Yorkshire, says a "compromise can be reached" after concerns about the smell.

    A local farmer has put in a planning application for the lagoon, which will contain bio-fertiliser, to Doncaster Council.

    However some local residents are opposing the plans saying recent use of the fertiliser stunk out their homes.

    The company ReFood, external, which is working with the farmer on the proposal, says their fertiliser had been used on the farm for three years without complaint.

    ReFood's commercial director Philip Simpson adds that the firm is committed to working with the local community.

    Doncaster Council is expected to take a decision on the planning application in the next few weeks.

  17. Tour de Yorkshire 2017: The giant art of cyclingpublished at 10:15 British Summer Time 30 May 2017

    A month after the winning wheels crossed the 2017 Tour de Yorkshire finish line in Sheffield, the voting's now open to crown the creator of the best piece of land art from the race.

    Hundreds of installations were conjured up by artists along this year’s route and 12 have been shortlisted by tourism organisation Welcome to Yorkshire for the public vote:

    A pub in Sheffield could face closure after several violent incidents.

    Terminus Tavern

    There have been eight disturbances at the Terminus Tavern in Darnall since January 2015, with two men attacked just last month.

    One man had his face slashed while another was hit over the head with a hammer.

    South Yorkshire Police say the frequency of the assaults is starting to cause fear in the local community.

    Sheffield City Council issued an emergency closure notice on the premises on 4 May and members of the authority's licensing committee is expected to decide later if it can stay open.

  19. Triumphant Terriers on parade to celebrate Premier League promotionpublished at 09:45 British Summer Time 30 May 2017

    Thousands of Huddersfield Town fans are expected on the streets later when the club's victorious players take to an open-top bus to celebrate their promotion to the Premier League.

    Huddersfield Town head coach David Wagner says he's "in a fairytale" after seeing his side clinch promotion to the Premier League.

    Town beat Reading in a dramatic penalty shootout in the Championship play-off final at Wembley on Monday to reach the top flight for the first time since 1972.

    Some roads are due to be closed in the town centre as a result of this evening's parade, with Kirklees Council set to release more details a little later.

    A car has crashed into the front of a shop after a collision with another vehicle in Doncaster.

    It happened at about 06:20 on Warmsworth Road in Balby when a silver Peugeot 207 and a black Ford Fiesta collided and one of the vehicles then went into the front of the store.

    No-one was hurt in the collision.
