  2. Watch: Halifax action man John Noakes in actionpublished at 09:01 British Summer Time 30 May 2017

    Andrew Barton
    BBC Local Live, Yorkshire

As you may have heard, the death of Blue Peter presenter John Noakes at the age of 83 was announced yesterday.

Noakes, from Halifax, was the action man of the popular BBC children's TV show in the 1960s and 70s.

I remember seeing him crash on the Cresta Run in Switzerland, leaving him with some pretty spectacular bruises, and jumping out of an RAF plane from five miles up.

Then there was his memorable climb up Nelson's Column with no safety ropes - a task which would never pass a modern BBC risk assessment!

Town beat Reading in a dramatic penalty shootout in the Championship play-off final on Monday to reach the top flight for the first time since 1972.

"I'm so happy and so proud of my players, the whole town and every employee of the club. The players have gone from heroes to legends during these play-offs," says Wagner.

Wagner, who took Huddersfield from 19th last season to fifth in 2016-17, felt the club's rise to the Premier League could almost be labelled a work of fiction.

"I'm so happy we've proven this is possible and we've brought this fairytale to a happy ending," he says.

The couple were at Manchester Arena to pick up their girls from the Ariana Grande gig last week when the suicide bomb attack took place.

  11. Concerns over Sprotbrough bio-fertiliser 'lagoon'published at 07:10 British Summer Time 30 May 2017

Plans for a bio-fertiliser "lagoon" on a farm near the Doncaster village of Sprotbrough haven't gone down well with some local residents.

The lagoon, which would holding bio-fertiliser, hasn't yet been built, but when the bio-fertiliser was tried out recently, people living nearby say it stunk their homes out and businesses lost trade.

The company behind the project, Refood, says plans for the lagoon have been "carefully considered to ensure minimal impact, both to the local community and to the surrounding built and natural environments".
