    A car which crashed into a house in York injuring four people has been removed from the property.

    The smash happened at 01:20 on 3 September.

    A man in his 20s, believed to be the driver, has been arrested.

    A man's in hospital with life-threatening injuries after the car he was driving, which is believed to have been stolen, crashed head-on into another car in Doncaster.

    It happened at about 06:30 on Wednesday 30 August on Doncaster Road, near Stainforth.

    It involved a Honda Civic, which is believed to have been stolen earlier that morning, and a Ford B-Max travelling towards Barnby Dunn.

    The driver of the Ford, a 62-year-old man suffered serious injuries.

    The 34-year-old Honda driver, who remains in a critical condition, has been arrested on suspicion of burglary.

    Anyone with dashcam footage of a crash on the M62 at the weekend which killed a baby boy and his toddler sister is being asked to get in touch with police.

    The two-month-old boy and his 19-month-old sister, both from West Yorkshire, died in hospital following the crash near Eggborough, North Yorkshire, on Sunday afternoon.

    The children’s mother, who is in her 20s and was a passenger, was also taken to hospital where she remains in a serious condition.

    The father, a man in his 20s who is believed to have been the driver, was treated for minor injuries.

    Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any relevant dashcam footage is being asked to get in touch with North Yorkshire Police as soon as possible.

    A man arrested after a car crashed into a house in York has been released on bail as inquiries continue.

    Four people were injured, three of them seriously, when the VW Golf ploughed through the wall of the house at Clifton Moor and crashed into the living room.

    The accident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning.

    A local community from Leeds has pulled together to rebuild and clean up the damage inflicted on a junior school ready in time for term.

    Parklands Primary School in east Leeds, suffered a string of vandal attacks in a play area towards the end of last week.

    Youths were caught on the school's CCTV smashing panes of glass and emptying sandpits.

    Parents and local residents associated with the school felt so strongly they pulled together to restore the facility.

    Here's one to put in the diary. Let's hope the weather is a little better for it.

    Pilots from RAF Linton on Ouse will carry out a flypast on Thursday to mark what would have been the 100th birthday of Leonard Cheshire.

    He was a war hero, a global humanitarian and founder of Leonard Cheshire Disability.

    You can see the flypast at 15:00 over Alne Hall near York. It is supported by the charity.

    The care home is also having a garden party between 14:00 and 16:30 and they'd love you to go along and celebrate with them.

    Probably best to avoid Cullingworth Road (B6144) for a little while if you can, you won't be getting too far.

    Police are currently moving the vehicle which is blocking both directions, it isn't said how long it will take.

  11. Treasurer who fleeced junior football club for £15,000 ordered to repay £10published at 12:38 British Summer Time 5 September 2017

    A woman who stole about £15,000 from a junior football club, leaving the team on the brink of collapse has been told to pay back £10 in return.

    Jemma Blackburn left Bradford-based Westwood Juniors with less than £500.

    She was given a suspended jail sentence in April after admitting fraud.

    Bradford Crown Court heard the 35-year-old, of Ascot Parade, Bradford, had a number of significant debts.

    A nominal repayment order was set by the judge due to her lack of assets.

    At her earlier sentence hearing, the court heard how her family's finances were in disarray at the time she stole the money from the club while acting as treasurer.

    At a Proceeds of Crime hearing, Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC said Blackburn had 28 days to pay the £10 or face a day in jail.

    An ice cream parlour and indoor market have been broken into in Wath-upon-Dearne last month, with a charity box and money from the till being stolen.

    Pastures Moo ice cream parlour, on Church Street, and the indoor market, in Montgomery Square, were targeted overnight on Friday 11 August.

    The indoor market was damaged heavily and money from the till and a charity box was stolen.

    The ice cream parlour's CCTV system was damaged.

    A collection of about 30,000 model figures dating back to the early 20th century are due to be auctioned off next month after being found in a house near Rotherham.

    Valuers were sent in after a man had died.

    The family just flippantly said to them: "There are a few models in the house."

    Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Bradford.

    The incident happened at around 15:10 yesterday on Queen’s Road, close to Bolton Road.

    The vehicle involved in the collision was a white Suzuki Swift which collided with a road sign and wall during the incident.

    Emergency services including police, fire and ambulance attended the scene.

    A 41-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary and remains in hospital.

    If you see lots of police in Rotherham today, it's likely to be because of South Yorkshire Police's latest day of action.

    Operation Duxford sees the force target problem issues such as street drinking and anti-social behaviour.

    They will also be providing crime prevention advice in and around the town's travel interchange.

    A new multi-million pound library will open in Halifax today.

    The new Halifax Central Library has been hit with delays including the discovery of an ancient burial ground under the neighbouring Piece Hall last year.

    It's taken three years to complete, with construction starting in October 2014.

    The new build is located on the historic Square Church site and will be open to the public six days a week, closing on Sunday.

    The news comes as new figures from market analysts Mintel show the continued decline in sales of traditional black tea. They've been falling steadily over the past five years.

    Firefighters in South Yorkshire had to put out a blaze in a house that started after smoking materials weren't put out properly.

    It happened on Sunday morning at 00:32 at a house on Medlock Crescent, Sheffield.

    The fire was in the bedroom and working smoke alarms raised the alarm, with no-one being injured.
