  1. Yorkshire MP to be questioned over Brexit divorce billpublished at 10:41 British Summer Time 5 September 2017

    The Brexit Secretary and Yorkshire MP David Davis, will face questions in Parliament this afternoon as MPs return to Westminster after the summer break.

    EU officials have warned about the lack of the progress in talks and say the UK must "start negotiating seriously".

    Liberal Democrat leader Sir Vince Cable, who's originally from York, says the government needs to face up to the so-called "divorce bill":

    A two-month-old baby and 19-month-old child died after the car they were travelling in left the M62 near Eggborough in North Yorkshire.

    Police said the children, a boy and girl, were in a car that left the motorway on Sunday afternoon, but they died yesterday.

    The children's mother, in her 20s, was a passenger in the vehicle and is in a serious condition in hospital.

    The children's father, also in his 20s, suffered minor injuries

    The family are from West Yorkshire.

    North Yorkshire Police described the incident as an "horrific ordeal" for the family.

    North Yorkshire Police is warning lorry drivers parking up off the A1 near Leeming Bar to clean up their act - following claims they're leaving litter and even human waste.

    Paul Craggs is the owner of the nearby caravan park.

    The Road Haulage Association has told BBC Radio York lack of facilities in the area is a problem.

    But Paul thinks many lorry drivers are parking in the lay-by to avoid parking fees at the truck stop.

    The road is closed from the Bull Inn to Old Station Holiday Park.

    Britain should do more to help calm tensions between the United States and North Korea , that's according to the Leeds MP and Shadow Minister for Peace and Disarmament Fabian Hamilton.

    The American ambassador to the UN this week accused Pyongyang of "begging for war" with the states after a series of nuclear tests.

    Leeds North West MP Fabian Hamilton believes disarmament is the way forward.

    A social club in Sheffield could lose it's licence today after two men were stabbed at a birthday party in July.

    South Yorkshire Police has asked Sheffield Council's Licensing Committee to review the permission of the Sheffield & District Afro Caribbean Club on the Wicker, to hold such events.

    Two men have been charged with attempted murder following the incident.

  8. Man, 51, robbed by knifeman at cash machinepublished at 09:00 British Summer Time 5 September 2017

    A man was robbed while getting money out of a cash machine in Darnall, South Yorkshire, in July, police say.

    The victim, a 51-year-old man, was at the Post Office machine on Greenland Road when he was threatened by a man with a knife.

    It happened at around 07:15 on Wednesday 12 July, with the armed man leaving towards Prince of Wales Road.

    The 51-year-old victim was not hurt in the incident.

    Police are asking for information.

    Policing issues around the plans to "frack" for shale gas in North Yorkshire will be discussed at a meeting later.

    The meeting is being held at Kirby Misperton village hall which is close to the site where Third Energy says it will start fracking later this year.

    A new library will be opening in Sheffield today.

    Woodseats Medical Centre

    It's the city's first new library in seven years and is in Woodseats. It has 11,000 books.

    They'll be sharing the building with the Woodseats Medical Practice.
