    There's a further debate in Parliament today on the government's Brexit Bill, with ministers saying it is essential to ease the process of leaving the European Union.

    Labour MPs have been told by their leadership to vote against it.

    Don Valley MP and former Europe Minister Caroline Flint says her party is wrong to oppose the second reading.

    This morning we told you about a power cut that was affecting around 850 properties in Rotherham.

    That's now sorted, however, there are fresh problems affecting 520 properties in the S11, S60, S62, and S70 postcodes.

    The power should be back on for around 17:00 today.

    A 25-year-old man is in hospital with serious injuries after a stabbing in Leeds city centre this lunchtime.

    It happened at 13:22 at the junction of Briggate and The Headrow.

    Police say they're looking for two suspects who are described as young black males.

    Forensic officers are still at the scene and have cordoned off two areas at the top of the busy shopping street.

    Rotherham council has approved plans to knock down most of a landmark town hall.

    All but the facade of Greasbrough Hall will be demolished to make way for a scheme to ease traffic congestion.

    Local campaigners were hoping to take it over but council decided against it.

    There's been a multi-vehicle crash on the M1 northbound in West Yorkshire at junction 40.

    Highways England say it's blocking three lanes but traffic is slowly passing on the inside lane.

    If you use it regularly you'll know about how much the land moves and how unstable the land around it is. Remember the landslip last year which closed the road for eight weeks?

    It's an important Trans Pennine route between Skipton and Harrogate.

    North Yorkshire County Council wants to realign the road to the other side of the valley as part of their plans to improve east west connections.

    Four routes have been chosen as the most feasible and they want your views. The public consultation ends on 31 October

    A primary school outdoor unit has been broken into and equipment stolen.

    It happened on Sunday at about 04:00 at Goldthorpe Primary School near Barnsley.

    Equipment including drills, a toolbox, and garden tools were stolen.

    The school uses the tools to run their own allotment, with some of the food being used in school dinners.

    Around 70 school children benefited from the outdoor class.

    The Met Office has issued a weather warning of strong winds affecting North Yorkshire.

    It's in place from 20:00 on Tuesday night until 10:00 on Wednesday morning.

    It warns of gusts up to 75 miles an hour in exposed places, and says there's a chance of power cuts and damage to trees and possibly buildings.

    Did you see a fight outside the New Globe Inn on Yorkersgate in Malton on Saturday night ?

    It involved a group of men and left one with injuries to his head while another suffered facial injuries and a punctured lung.

    Three local men were later arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and are in police custody.

    Leeds actress Liz Dawn is recovering in hospital with a lung condition and is said to be "quite chipper".

    The former Coronation Street star, 78, played hit character Vera Duckworth for two decades in the ITV soap, was rushed to hospital last week.

    Her spokesman Barry McManus said "Liz is recovering in hospital and according to members of the family is quite chipper."

    Her character was written out of the show in January 2008 at the actress's request, she had been diagnosed as suffering from the lung disease, emphysema, in 2004 and there were further complications in 2007.

    Bradford is opening a film office in China as part of the developing relationship between the two country's film industries.

    Bradford is the world's first UNESCO City of Film - because of its festivals and heritage.

    The office in China will develop co production projects between UK and Chinese filmmakers and offer advice on studying film and TV production in the UK.

    China will also open an office in Bradford, in a move the city's council describes as "developing in the areas of science and technology as well as film and TV production."

    Young people leaving care in Rotherham might not have to pay council tax, if plans are approved later today.

    Care leavers under 21 and those up to the age of 25 who are in full time education, would be made exempt from council tax demands.

    Rotherham Council would be one of the first councils in the country to approve the recommendations made by The Children's Society, a national charity for vulnerable children.

    North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a 51-year-old man suffered serious head injuries in Whitby.

    Police say an alteraction happened two men at the Windmill Inn on Stainsacre Lane on Friday night at about 20:00.

    The victim was taken to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough with serious head injuries.

    A 48- year-old man from Whitby has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and has been released on conditional bail.

    A woman was sexually assaulted by a man who approached her on a street in West Yorkshire.

    It happened last month on Stile Common Road, Huddersfield, when the woman in her 40s, was approached by a man who asked her to go to the park with him.

    She refused and he sexually assaulted her and then walked away.

    Officers are looking for a white man, aged in his late teens, of slim build, over 5ft 6ins tall, with short, cropped hair which was white at the front and grey at the back.
