    Three children were injured earlier this morning after being hit by a car in the car park of Long Toft Primary School in Stainforth.

    A five-year-old boy and two-year-old girl are said to have suffered minor injuries.

    The extent of injuries to a nine-year-old girl are unknown.

    The school has released a statement:

    York's Taxi drivers have been staging a second protest against out-of-town cabbies, such as UBER.

    They say they're worried about how many are working in the city without a the right authorisation.

    The outdoor area of Leeds market could soon be reduced in size to make way for a car park.

    The city council is considering converting a small part of Kirkgate Market to a short-stay car park to encourage people to visit.

    It said it was getting views from traders who will be affected, but they were not all happy with the plan.

    Michael Dolan, who runs a fruit and vegetable stall, stands to lose his pitch if the car park goes ahead.

    A woman has been injured in a hit-and-run incident in Dewsbury.

    The 49-year-old woman was walking along North Road on Wednesday, and when she crossed the junction of Clarkson Street she was hit by the car.

    Police are looking for a dark-coloured estate car, which then drove off after hitting the woman.

    The woman was taken to hospital for treatment but she was not thought to be seriously injured.

    Arsonists set fire to a caravan parked in the back garden of a property in South Yorkshire in the early hours.

    The caravan was parked at a property on Low Row in Woolley Colliery, Barnsley.

    Two crews from Barnsley and Cudworth were sent to deal with the blaze.

    A man has been arrested after a shooting in Leeds on Wednesday.

    The 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in the early hours of this morning at a house in Beeston.

    The shooting happened on Maud Avenue, Beeston, when three men were sitting in a Toyota Yaris.

    A black BMW, which had a number of men wearing balaclavas in it, pulled up and shot at the other car, leaving a 21-year-old man with a shotgun pellet wound in his hand.

    Yorkshire's Air Ambulance was called to the scene of the incident which happened about 08:40 this morning at the school on Church Road.

    A nine-year-old girl, a five-year-old boy and a two-year-old girl have all been taken to hospital, the five-year-old and two-year-old are said to have suffered minor injuries.

    At this time, the extent of injuries to the nine-year-old is not yet known.

    Three primary school children have been injured after they were hit by a car performing a manoeuvre in a South Yorkshire school car park.

    A nine-year-old girl, a five-year-old boy and a two-year-old girl have all been taken to hospital.

    The five-year-old and two-year-old are said to have suffered minor injuries.

    At this time, the extent of injuries to the nine-year-old is not yet known.

    The incident happened at a school on Church Road, Stainforth this morning about 08:40.

    A man has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a rush-hour crash on the A19.

    Two cars and a lorry collided between the A67 and the A174, near Crathorne

    Cleveland Police says that while one lane is now open southbound, the northbound carriageway of the A19 is likely to be closed until lunchtime.

    A group of disabled swimmers in York fear they'll have nowhere left to go if the pool they use has to close.

    The Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust says it can no longer afford to run the pool in New Earswick.
