A mother allegedly beaten to death by her husband went house hunting in Leeds hours before she died, a court has heard.
Sinead Wooding was planning to leave her husband Akshar Ali, who is accused of her murder.
"It was not a good relationship at all," her friend Anayh Makama told Leeds Crown Court. "He was being controlling."
Mr Ali, 27, of Scott Hall Road, Leeds, and Yasmin Ahmed, 27, of Reginald Mount, Potternewton, both deny murder.
They are accused of killing Ms Wooding, 26, who was allegedly beaten with a claw hammer and stabbed six times at Ms Ahmed's home.

The landlord of a North Yorkshire pub has created a scene from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang made entirely out of chocolate.
Every year, Ashley McCarthy, who runs the Sun Inn near Tadcaster, creates a mouth-watering chocolate masterpiece to raise funds for the Martin House Children's Hospice.
For this year's creation, Ashley used about 25 kilos of chocolate and spent more than 60 hours making it.
He says: "There's a lot of detail in this year's creation, a lot more than normal. I think it's definitely one of the biggest and I'm sure the kids will love it when it gets down to them at Martin House."
A dog was rescued by firefighters from a house in Barnsley over the weekend after its owner left a chip pan unattended on the hob which then set alight.
Firefighters had to search the home at about 02:30 on Saturday morning to rescue the lucky pooch at the house on Raley Street in the Kingstone area.
The owner escaped unharmed too.
South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said its crews attend dozens of incidents caused by chip pans or pans filled with hot oil each year.
Three men who attacked a man outside a Leeds nightclub with a gun, machete and knife have been jailed for a total of 52 years.
Their target was a 42-year-old man who was attacked outside the Nite Trax club, on Chapeltown Road, on 29 August last year as people were celebrating the Leeds West Indian Carnival weekend.
The victim was stabbed and shot in the chest from just a few feet away and had to undergo surgery.
Police say they still don't know why the man was attacked.
Shaquille Liddie (pictured left), 24, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and was jailed for 14 years.
Kemar Ricketts (centre), 28, of no fixed abode and Seion Allen (right), 33, also of no fixed abode, were both found guilty of attempted murder and were both sentenced to 19 years imprisonment.

A man's being treated for serious injuries in hospital after being attacked in Scarborough.
The 27-year-old was found with a serious head injury in an alleyway off Princess Square on Friday afternoon.
Two local women aged 39 and 38 have been arrested and released while police continue to investigate.
Officers say they want anyone with information about the incident to get in touch.
Striker Joshua Kayode has signed his first professional contract with Rotherham, keeping him at the club until 2020.
The 17-year-old was handed his senior debut after making two appearances during the Checkatrade Trophy earlier this season.
Academy manager Garreth Barker said, external: "He has acquitted himself brilliantly both in the first team and reserves games that he has been involved in.
"It's great to see another player make the step up and it's a fitting reward for the hard work that he's put in," Barker adds.
Three men threatened staff with knives and stole cash from a safe during a raid at a Leeds pub last night.
The theft happened at about 23:15 when the trio entered the Vesper Gate pub in Abbey Road, Kirkstall.
After stealing the money, the men, who were wearing balaclavas and dark clothing, ran off along Abbey Road, in the direction of Abbey Walk.
Det Insp Richard Holmes says: "This was a frightening experience for the members of staff to be confronted by these men. Thankfully they were not physically injured."
Anyone who saw what happened or witnessed anything suspicious in the area prior to the robbery is being asked to contact police.
