    A police charity that helps officers who have fallen ill has secured £1.5m in funds generated from Libor fines imposed on UK banks.

    The Police Treatment Centre in Harrogate also supports policemen with stress, anxiety and other conditions.

    CEO Patrick Cairns said the centre was seeing a growing demand for psychological treatment from police officers.

    Libor is the rate at which banks lend to each other.

    Sheffield is hosting the British Figure Skating Championships this week.

    It sees the cream of the country's performers competing for national titles.

    Two such hopefuls are Olympic hopefuls Graham Newberry and Natasha Mackay, both are looking to defend their titles in Sheffield.

    A North Yorkshire Wildlife Crime Officer has won a national award for his work in tackling rural crime.

    Sgt Kev Kelly was named Wildlife Law Enforcer of the year at the Wildlife Crime Conference - an accolade that is presented to an officer who has done the most to combat wildlife crime in the UK.

    He has secured convinctions for bat disturbance, greater crested newt habitat destruction and raptor persecution.

    Mothers in Bradford are being trained up in the latest efforts to tackle terrorism

    extremism lesson

    Mums from a range of backgrounds have been working together to learn about the risks of radicalisation and how to protect their children from extreme views.

    So far they have been attending the courses voluntarily and not because their children are at any particular risk - the sessions are being funded by the government strategy Prevent.

    In the past the scheme has been criticised for focusing on Muslim communities but this initiative is open to all and looks at the risks from Islamist and Far Right groups.

    The sessions have been running at six locations across the city and are run by the group Empowering Minds.

    The government's again stated there can be no Yorkshire-wide devolution deal until a South Yorkshire one is completed.

    Barnsley and Doncaster Councils are holding a poll from Friday to ask people which option they prefer.

    But in response to a question from Barnsley MP Dan Jarvis, Chancellor Philip Hammond said the existing deal to get more decisions made in South Yorkshire must be completed first:

    Four days of strike action have been set by teachers at Westways Primary School in Sheffield.

    The National Education Union says it's over loss of morale and increasing stress caused by "escalating workloads and punitive scrutiny".

    The union says talks with governors have failed to sort things out and that it regrets the disruption the action will have for pupils and parents.

    The strike days called by the union are 6, 7, 12 and 13 December.

    Police have released this CCTV image of a woman who has been missing in Sheffield since Saturday.

    Angela Simmonite, 57, went missing on Saturday after leaving her home in the Ecclesfield area between 05:00 and 09:00 - She hasn’t been heard from since.

    Police say they've been carrying out "extensive searches" around her home and have found fresh CCTV pictures of her on Hinde House Lane, at around 07:00 on the day she went missing.

    It's now the last confirmed sighting of her and if you have any information about where she is, South Yorkshire Police want you to call them on 101.

    More than 200 weapons have been handed in during a fortnight's amnesty held by police in South Yorkshire.

    There are no trains running between Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington due to damage to the track between Hunmanby and Bridlington.

    Engineers are carrying out emergency work in the area.

    National Rail Enquiries says this will cause disruption on journeys between Scarborough and Hull. Services may be delayed by up to 40 minutes or cancelled.

    Any cancelled services will be replaced with a bus.

    The Environment Agency is behind the idea and people will be able to see a 36 hour "river forecast" which covers the River Calder at Walsden, Todmorden, Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd and Sowerby Bridge.

    The agency says that it should help people prepare for possible flooding and make them more aware of potential risks.

    The forecasts are calculated by computer models that take into account data including current flows and expected rainfall.

    There's about a mile of standing traffic on the M1 northbound in South Yorkshire this lunchtime as traffic is being temporarily held following a crash.

    It's happened near Barnsley between J36 and J37. Highways England are now on scene, and have stopped the traffic while they deal with the accident.

    A case has been dropped against a man accused of being involved in a gang behind a Halloween "ride out" which caused chaos in Leeds.

    Thirteen people were jailed at Leeds Crown Court after bikers tore through streets last year, which was likened to scenes from the film Mad Max.

    Hernani Banza, 27, of Shafton View, Leeds, had pleaded not guilty to causing a public nuisance charge.

    The Crown Prosecution Service offered no evidence against him.

    Police have released pictures of two people they want to speak to after a man was repeatedly punched in the face on a bus.

    The bus was outside St Jame's Hospital at the time of the attack at about 19:15 on 18 November.

    A man punched the victim, a 34 year-old man, several times in the face leaving him badly injured , before running off the bus with a woman.

    If you recognise them, you are asked to call West Yorkshire Police on 101.

    The national title of Newly Qualified Children's Social Worker of the Year has been won by Dean Radford who works in Shefffield.

    He was nominated for his work with a woman who was terminally ill and her child.

    He helped them by finding secure housing and support services and being there for the child when the mother died.

    Judges at the national awards, external praised his tenacity, and passion for social work.

    The leader of Bradford council is warning that more job cuts may be on the way next year.

    The authority says an extra £7m of savings would have to be made by 2019, with museums, libraries and adult social care all expected to face cuts.

    The council say that since 2010 they have approved £255.8m of savings but need to close the gap on a further £30.7m.

    They say some of these savings are already planned and further ones are proposed for consultation.

    People coming over from Manchester on the M62 this morning will have been delayed by another broken down vehicle - this time a lorry - between J21 and J22.

    A 26-year-old man has died after being hit by a car on the A64 near Sherburn in Ryedale.

    The incident happened at 18:15 yesterday.

    North Yorkshire Police say they believe the man had walked from Scagglethorpe village to the A64. He died at the scene.

    Police are appealing for witnesses and the man's family are being supported by specially-trained officers.
